NXT Tour S. Great all-round ball, and a brilliant lemon-lime shade of yellow.

Srixon Z Star SL for me. Mid capper. 89-92 mph driver. 145y 7i. Enough spin around the greens. Drop and stop approaches. Low spin off driver. Most durable urethane I've come across. Best of all. $25-29 right now.

I love the Callaway Chrome. Great spin and the brightest yellow I think is made. The thing glows like its nuclear

prefer playing yellow balls cause they stand out at tournaments, having played a lot of different ones heres my rankings:
1. Srixon Z Star- Top level performance ball that comes in yellow, performed for me, couldn't ask for anything more from it.
2. Titleist NXT Tour-S- Weird ball, played well, didn't stand out in anything for me, but performed.
3. Wilson Staff Duo- This is a long ball, as advertise, feels ridiculously soft off the face, screwed my putting up for a bit but at 19$ great value
4. Srixon Q Star- Straight, Straight, Straight, almost like cheating, also at 25$ great value

Not much love for the Callaway line apparently.

The best ball for the OP is the ball that fits his game the best (and is yellow).

I recently switched to the Callaway X-Hot (yellow) and find they generally fit my game. For an old guy, the ball is long and straight. A lot of the length comes after the carry as it rolls out for quite a while.

On approaches to the green, it definitely rolls out on a poorly hit shot. I've been over more greens recently than I can remember. But it will stop within a couple of feet of a crisp short iron shot. A benefit is rolling onto the green after hitting short.

Chipping and pitching has to be carefully placed or you'll be long every time.

But that said, my best round since returning to golf was with the ball. Breaking 80 provides a lot of motivation for me (passive boast) with a 17 HDC.

Old FG Tour came in yellow. Never tried the yellow, but the white is an outstandingly good ball. I hope the new model comes in yellow.

Asking "best ball in yellow" is meaningless if you really can play a PV1 and I rec'd the Pinnacles. More sensible to start with ball you like and find in yellow. Keep moving down the chain if necessary.

The dye used to make the cover a color is not going to add performance differences (some say slightly on Srixons; I am not sure, maybe a little softer cover?).

I like the color of the Srixon XV. Tried the Callaway Hex Chrome yellows and didn't care for the color. Is there such a thing as TOO yellow? The XV's were more subdued and slightly shiny. I liked that. Sold my yellow Chromes. Kept my White ones.

I wouldn't know. I hit it right down the middle and then on the green every time! Seriously though, I see white balls better at this time of year. Put some blue markings on it like an alignment line or something and they are more visible to me.

I just found out the answer to this question; NO. I can't find the yellow balls in all the leaves, it tends to blend in more than white.

Z Stars are really good - but pricey. A nice blend of spin with good distance.
I used one for my last few holes the other day round, white balls were almost invisible because of the flat light and overcast skies.

I just bought 2 dozen Callaway Xhot balls for $35, hope I get to try them out before the season is over. Most courses in my area are closing this weekend.

Bag Setup - changes too often to bother listing

I had a very hard time today finding the Srixon Qstar yellow today. Like someone said earlier they blend in with the leaves better, I swore off yellow after today.

Z star. I've got about 10 dozen waiting for their special day. I've been using them for a while now. I also throw in some B330-s as i also really like those. I'll mostly play the yellow z star in comps. I don't know anyone else at my club that uses them which is fine by me as they're missing out. It's full of Pro V1 sheep, baaaaa baaaaa ;)

i think for me the z star is one of the best feeling balls to putt with. The yellow also seems to respond to my eyes better. When it's low dark clouds it's like having your own pro tracer as they shoot off into a dark back ground. Anyone that can't get spin on a z star probably can't spin anything else.

Get a box and give 'em a go. They're a great all round ball which can be had for dirt cheap.

Z stars for dirt cheap!!!? Cheapest I've seen is $30/dz on 2011 model on eBay.

Would love to give them a try but the Social Security check doesn't stretch that far. :shok:

OK, Β£20 is $32.33 U.S. at the current exchange rate. About $8 a sleeve and $2.69/ball.

There are waaaaaaaaaaay too many lakes, OBs in people's yards, and hazards to risk my retirement. :swoon:
