As they get newer, they get softer and more durable. Other than some minor differences in distance and spin, that's pretty much it.

Overall yes, the got softer, but between 2007 and 2011 it got always a touch harder (based on GBS results).

Here are the differences of each version based on my experiences:

2001 - ProV1 Star (predecessor to the ProV1x)
2003 - first ProV1x, dimple design changed from 392 to 332, lower trajectory than the Star
2005 - harder overall, lower overall spin than 2003
2007 - significantly softer than 2005 (lowest compression ProV1x to date), added staggered wave parting line added to hide the seam, iron/wedge spin gap between the ProV1 and ProV1x models dramatically lessened
2009 - harder overall, lower overall spin and better durability than 2007
2011 - dimple design changed from 332 to 328, higher trajectory and maybe a touch softer than 2009
2013 - similar to 2011, slightly better cover durability

Pretty spot on here. Durability has gotten a lot better over the years I can remember the 07 version you would hit one shot with a wedge with square grooves and the ball would be chewed up.

My Pro V1X are still chewed up after 1 solid full wedge shot, the durability is the only downfall to me (They spin like crazy though). After 1 round, looks like squirrel tried to have it for lunch..

IMO titleist got it right in 2003 and have not quite made one to that standard since. Of course it could just be that 10 years ago I was younger and stronger and have gone steadily downhill since haha.
