Noticed this too. Often posts I think are gold end up at the end of page in a rapidly evolving thread and get skipped over. There is a bit of a science to it. More often than not if you can get a good/sarcastic/clever/honest well written post within the first few replies of the OP likes come easier and more frequent

I can't remember which thread it was in but I distinctly remember MtlJeff implying that he was sending pictures of his unit to Thrillhouse.

I had one like that in the WRX speed dating thread as well. I made several proir posts that got like 5 likes, 7 likes...

And the best one I got 1 like.

It had to do with a a guy in a fivesome "finishing quickly". I think it was so overly dirty only one person got it. That's my favorite post I've made on this site to date.

I don't get the liking on here. There's a few that make it a living of posting sarcastic posts just for likes. I'd rather just post value-added comments to real golf topics.
