I'm telling you, and it hurts to say it because I HATE Nike, the damn SQ is a GREAT stick. Damn those Oregonians. Soon enough they will be ruling the roost. And it'll kill me.....

I hope everyone enjoys the pics. I had a great time taking them and was surprised to see how many PGA Tour players are still using older equipment such as TM 300 series irons (I saw 2 or 3 sets) and older model Vokey wedges.

It seems that just about every one of these guys plays an r7. In my estimation, about 80% of the guys I watched were hitting one.

Here are few highlights to the pics:

1. The 905R (8.5 loft with Aldila NV) is Zach Johnson's. I asked him if it was and he said "yes" so I asked if I could have a picture. He kinda smiled and held it up for me. Very cool guy!

2. The Guerin Rife pic shows what looks like a new full, rounded mallet with a white insert. You can see the 2-bar blade next to it.

3. The gunmetal X Tour 54* wedge is Scott McCarron's. That's the first gunmetal one I've seen.

4. You can see what looks like a prototype Tour Edge iron in the Tour Edge bag. It's the one with the center weighting that appears to have an X or some other design.

5. Lickliter carries a Fourteen Hi hybrid.

6. The FT-3 with no sole weight belongs to Brandt Jobe. He had a couple of drivers in the bag. Notice the lead tape used to replace the weight plate.

7. The white Callaway shoes are Charles Howell III's. Kinda hideous IMO.

8. The guy on the range in front of the Nike bag is Chad Campbell. Looks like he finally got a sponsor.

9. The raw TA1's belong to Vaughn Taylor. Really cool looking up close.

10. The G5 hat is Joey Snyder's. I took this pic because it's a cool hat, cloth in front, mesh in back.

11. Get a load of Mike Weir's ancient swing trainer. It's the one with a bent shaft and huge yellow weighted head outline.

12. Jonathan Byrd had some PIMP lizard or alligator FJ's and was hitting an original Cally Fusion with a Fuji ZCom. He must be old school.

That's enough to keep everyone busy for a while. Enjoy and PM if you have any questions about specific pics.

Thanks!

Those shoes aren't bad if you're a 3-year old who can't tie your own shoes.

Just kidding, but I think they fasten with those straps...maybe velcro???

Here are a few things I forgot to mention:

1. The Hogan hybrid (only chrome club) in Brandt Jobe's bag appears to be a prototype. I haven't seen anything like it before, it has a thicker sole a la the Titleist 503.i or Bridgestone J33 AirMuscle, but has a cavity back.

2. The picture of the Titleist driver face on the ground is Craig Perks'. It might be the 905R, but I'm not 100% sure. It looked bigger than the 905T or 905S.

3. The picture of the huge putter / white shoes is Patrick Sheehan's Odyssey SRT 3-ball. That putter is HUGE!

4. On a side note, I watched players tee off #1 (560 yard par 5) for 3 solid hours and the longest hitter was........Sean O'Hair. This guy disappears behind a golf shaft he's so thin, but he puts a great move on the ball and gets it WAAAAYYYY out there. He was easily 10 yards further than anyone else I watched, including Charles Howell III who is one of the longer guys on tour.

Enjoy the pics!

Nice money shot of the 905 R

Is that the new tour edge driver? Looks like a Cleveland Launcher in the pics

Cool shot of the Fourteen V2 660

O'Hair's set up looks sweet. LT2 and I read he is playing the R7 shallow

Nice to see 300 forged and eye 2 out there

55375

Yep, it's the new Tour Edge driver. One has the V2 and the other has an electric green (not NV green) shaft. I'm not sure what shaft that is, perhaps Matrix???

O'Hair's driver is an r7, but I'm not sure if it's the shallow version. The irons are definitely LT2s.

Why do u think all of us are so interested in equiptment? Why do we keep buying the the newest and the latest, even though we have the best?  Will we ever be content with what we have? By the way gREAT PICTURES

55670

This is a very interesting question because, as I took pictures yesterday, I realized that many tour pros use older equipment, especially irons. I saw a few sets of TM 300 irons, some older TM MB's, Titleist 670, Mizuno MP 33 (Chris Smith & Bob Tway). PGA Tour pros must know something we don't.

I'm as guilty as the next guy of trying new stuff. I think the difference between us and them is that they rely on their clubs to earn a living, therefore they stick with what works.

Great question / comment.
