I love it when they release new balls every year.

Between Taylor Made and Callaway releasing new models of golf balls as often as they do clubs it is a gold mine for prior models.

I use to play Pro V1x and still think it is a great ball but most other top tier balls are so close it makes no difference to me. So the Lethal is discontinued and selling for 27.99 pretty much the same for Callaway Hex Black & Chrome. You mean to tell me the new models are twice as good, cause that is what they will cost.

This development has been great for the consumers, I can play a tour level ball for mid level pricing. Big time win win and getting the RBZ urethane and Callaway Hot Pro for 17..99 makes spring and fall golf even cheaper.

i usually just buy mint balls in bulk off ebay. like 60 bucks for 50 balls? hex black, tp5, 20xi, etc., great deals!

I agree! I buy 6-8 dozen which takes me through my season. Like the OP, I love the V1X, but at about $52 a dozen (including tax) it doesn't make sense. I just spent $28 a dozen for Lethals (including the tax) for next season. Even when Titleist does their buy three get one free deal it still isn't as good a bargain!

Sometimes Academy does that for the retired models, and theyre not marked. But if you take it to the register theyre right at 28-29 bucks. I bought a dozen Penta TP5's last year like that (still think that's the best ball taylormade has made).

Also, where are you getting the RBZ Urethanes for 17.99? I got a dozen of those for free this past spring and figured theyd be about as good as a Noodle, but I really really like those balls. Not so so spinny on fast slick greens, and they have a great feel off the driver and short irons/wedges.

Lethals at roughly $20 a box cheaper than pro v in Oz is a no brainer. The fact lethal would be my choice if I I got balls for free is a bonus.

Dick's Sporting Goods, they have the B-330's on sale for $38 bucks and accept a $10 off coupon for a net of $28/dz. They ran them for $29/dz around Christmas and it netted out to $19/dz. Couldn't figure out how I could go wrong with that!!

I am confused as to what the heck Callaway is doing. The Chrome is a great ball but is going away. Go to the Callaway website and try and figure out what ball will replace it and how the others compare to each other. The website is full big pic's and very little information or direction. The balls that they are selling are not even listed in an order where a person could pick from the "top" of the line to the "bottom" of the line. Looks like they just plopped everything on the page without much thought.

What a mess. I may be going back to Bridgestone or Titleist.
