Welp, I guess I should should just give up and sell my clubs now......

Friday I had a PB nine hole score of 1 over and today I got my first ever hole in one!

Ugliest hole in one I could ever imagine.... Par 3, 140 yards. I pulled an 8i to try and smooth one up to the green, and skulled the crap outta it. Ball never gets more than 2ft off the ground and runs towards the center of the green. It goes over a small mound, hangs a little right, rolls onto the green, bangs into the flagstick and drops. Couldnt believe it.

I dropped my club and just started laughing. The 2 guys I was paired up with had no idea what to say.

So this was kinda like my personal best, awesome and annoying all balled up into one emotion. Although the hole in one has way more awesome in it.

But to my headline, guess i have accomplished everything, time to quit........... Until tomorrow of course!

Ace is an ace. To be a true member of WRX, you need to change the story though......

"Par 3, 140 yards. I pulled out my 60 and figured a 3/4 swing should do, but then was like heck no, it's too easy, I need a challenge. So I bet the guys I was playing with $100 each that I could take my 8 iron, hit the ball never more than 2 feet off the ground, and dunk it in the cup. Just about then a ranger pulled up to tell us to speed up even though the guys ahead of us were totally killing the pace. I just stared the ranger down as I took my swing and walked off the tee waiting for the clink off the stick. There was no reason to say anything. I'm totally never playing that course again, in fact I might just sell my clubs because the game is just too easy and I'm done dealing with all the BS."

LMAO!

Although after everyone putted out the ranger did come up to say he was locking the gates to the cart paths (course is in a community) because darkness was quickly falling. I of course walk, but the other guys had a cart. Figured I better hitch a ride in with the ranger so I could buy the customary round for the ace. I wouldnt want to anger the golf gods after the last week they have given me. So, my "low piercing butter cut" 8i ace was also the last hole of the day....

Based on your story, he's ready to step up to the blades....

OP, nice shot.

The closest I've ever come to a hole in one was just like that... 145 yard par 3, my ball never got 3 [s]feet[/s] yards off the ground... Hit the slope behind the pin 10 feet back, and it rolled to a foot of the hole (but not in).

Disclaimer--I hit short of the green, and it rolled up. And back down the slope. I didn't spin it or nuthin....

You've got a great thing going. A wife that's interested in the game, a cute little boy (who also wishes to play), low rounds, an ace. I want a bit of what you're sippin'.

Keep quiet or you just might jinx yourself.

Congrats.

Oh, no! You didn't complete the round? That means the ace is not official.

Well, technically. But, who cares? Congrats!

Congratulations on the personal best and ace.

You also made the correct decision to not quit golf. In 2000, I birdied the first hole of the first round. I thought about retiring for the year at "under par" but ultimately continued the round. Within a hole or two I was over par for the year and never looked back.

Technically i played 14 holes so it can still be used for handicapping purposes and therefore i counter that its still official :-)

It has been awesome. Ive been thinking that the golf gods must me getting ready to smite me and want to make my last few rounds enjoyable. HA! Either that or they have accepted my sacrifice of bringing two people (my son and wife) into the game and are rewarding me :-)

I wouldn't have thought to play it that way but I cannot argue with the results.

Nice "1", CJ.
