Finally. The eagle has landed

After giving up on ever achieving this milestone it finally happened today. I made my first ever eagle. Not one of epic WRX proportions, but for this short hitter a major accomplishment to say the least. 30 mph wind at my back and a measly 475 yd. tee box today. I hit driver, 6 iron to 3 feet. The ironic thing is had the ball drew that extra 3, it could have very well been an albatross as it was dead even with the pin. I had no clue what had happened until the gentleman I was playing with gave me a fist bump and said nice Eagle.

Congrats...an eagle is an eagle. Yardage doesn't matter! How was the rest of your round? Did the eagle impact you good or bad?

Awesome man... you don't have to swing 110 mph and drive greens you did what a lot can't you made the putt!! Congrats again man and hopefully more to come.

Thanks gents. The rest of the round was decent in comparison to how I have been doing as of late. I shot a 95 with 30 putts. Had 4 blow up holes, 3 penalty strokes, and 7 par putts that decided they would not take the break lol. The positive outside of my putter starting to show signs of life again was the fact that 85% of all the tee shots with driver in hand was point and shoot. It has been a long time since I have been able to do that with the driver. The liquor store owner that joined up with me and fed me some quality brewskies, as well as being awesome company did not hurt matters either.

I forgot to mention that I put into practice some excerpts from some of Sean's threads, as well as a piece of personal advice concerning having a consistent pre shot routine given to me by Ricky Ross.

Thanks it definitely could not have come at a better time. I was unable to leave the course until the sun had nearly set. I was truly enjoying the putting green after the round for the first time in a very long time.

Thanks gentleman. Forgot to mention the course was Bailey Ranch in Owasso, Oklahoma Hole 14. I fortunately remembered to take the ball out of play to frame along with the scorecard.

Congrats man! I'm still chasing that milestone. I've had three eagle putts inside of 10ft and missed all of them.

I have actually had 4 (2 putting on par 5s, 2 holed approaches on par 4s), but have never had an ace...sigh...

Playing in 30 mph wind is tricky. Eagles are a big deal! Congrats!

Thanks all, it was definitely a bit tricky with the wind. The hole looked like alot of the par 4's I played at Forest Ridge last week is why I didn't realize it was a par 5 as well as the Dogfish Head Ale I was being treated to. It was a crafty little straight away hole with a tree dead center of the fairway at about 350, so it was really nice to get that nice baby draw 6 iron up quickly enough to clear the tree by only inches. I think the 2003 Rac CB's were sending me a message yesterday asking why they were ever pulled from the bag.
