Ideas / Opinions for Paint Fill - Nike VR Pro Combo

Recently purchased a new set of the 2011 model Nike VR Pro Combo irons, along with the VR Forged wedges. I doubt I switch irons or wedges again for years because of how much I love both.

I am, however, a minimalist, and am interested in removing some of the paint fill on the clubs and possibly even satinizing them in the future (once the wear and tear and bag chatter on the chrome start to bother me).

My idea is to remove all paint fill except the black swoosh logo and the number on the sole of the club. Anyone else have any ideas or opinions? I really only like black and white, so doing crazy blue or yellow or red fills is out. Like the idea of only having the black swoosh and club number, or think I should I strip all paint fill and just play them "naked?" Any other ideas?

They look pretty good as is, I would wait till they get a little beat up and used before you change them

Seems to be the general consensus from friends as well. Think if I did change them, it would be something subtle like replacing the small red fills with white or black.

These are the prettiest clubs I've ever owned, so I'm really hesitant to engage in any of my old tinkering habits until, like you said, they're beat up enough to need it.

I removed all paint from my AP2s for a season and got all kind of looks and questions. It's a cool look for sire, but finally reprinted them in my team colors(green and yellow). Now everyone in my golf group wants me to paint their clubs....
