Buddies Trip to Tampa

I coordinate a buddies golf trip with 8 – 12 guys where each year we go to a different State. This year we are planning on going to Tampa, FL in late October. We usually golf on Fri/Sat/Sun and have Thu & Mon as travel days. My questions are as follows:

· We would like to keep driving to a minimum, so Innisbrook, World Woods or somewhere else?

· What kind of conditions should we expect in October?

· Is it worth it to fly in a day early and play Streamsong? The courses look fantastic.

Would love to hear some local recommendations…

I think Streamsong is worth a visit. Its expensive but worth it for a one time play. Especially the Red 18. If you can play 36 at Streamsong, you will get a reduced rate on the 2nd 18. You do not need to take a caddie if you walk. We played World Woods as well and it came in 2nd behind Streamsong. Did not play Innisbrook. Not sure about conditions in October as we visited this time last year.

1. You should check out Brooksville CC and Southern Hills. They are both located near World Woods. I personally really enjoy TPC Tampa Bay.

2. Generally should be excellent. Hurricane conditions generally come in September. You may catch a stray tropical storm type condition. But, generally October is about as good as it gets down here.

3. I've never played Streamsong. From the people I've talked to, the courses are great. It's just that the add-on pricing (caddies, forecaddies, etc) tend to leave a sour taste in people's mouths. You could walk it as October is good weather for walking and you wouldn't have to pay for the caddie/forecaddie.
