Best practice facility in Tampa?

Looking for the best practice facility in Tampa. I work in Tampa quite a bit lately, but never get to golf. I am traveling next month to go play and want to hit up a nice practice facility a few times.

 

Grass tees...?

 

Nice range you can use a driver, quality range balls, nice bunkers and practice greens.

 

How is Ace Golf? Macdill AFB?

 

I have access to Macdill, how is the course and range there? If you are a club pro and would like to host me bringing down my private instructor PM me, I would be happy to chat.

ACE RANGE IN BRANDON IS OK BUT THE GRASS AREA IS SMALL AND CAN GET CHEWED UP .ACE ALSO HAS A RANGE IN RIVERVIEW ABOUT 5 MI. SOUTH WHICH HAS A LARGER GRASS AREA . BOTH ARE LIGHTED BUT I DONT THINK MCDILL IS IF NIGHT PRACTICE IS DESIRED

Best public practice is the downs,plus you can gamble on the ponies if you like.
Best private is probably hunters green.

Fore Seasons Golf in Clearwater Feather Sound area is a great indoor spot, just opened couple months ago, but have a huge indoor green and couple launch monitors and 2 simulators, and they serve beer, will be good spot in the wet season

I agree on the Downs. Went there once and thought it was excellent.

TPC Tampa Bay is your best bet for a full service range.

Little bit of a hike and I'm not sure what their range policies are, but the best practice facility has got to be up at World Woods.

Just saw a livingsocial deal for this place. Are they good launch monitors and can you get any club and ball data readouts or is it just a simulator golf type place?

I was a big fan of the Chi-Chi Rodriguez range in Clearwater. Plenty of grass, well maintained, 80 yard and in short game area, real putting green that's actually in pretty good shape.

Its a indoor range with monitors (believe new foresight cg 2) not sure if physical print but can email results, have a couple pros that do lessons and 2 simulators

Downs if you want to hit balls or chip, but the putting green there is terrible. TPC is great overall and has the best green for putting, but a medium size bag of balls is $11. Mangrove bay over in Pinellas has a nice range and a bunch of nice greens for putting and chipping. That place is really good for pairing up singles if you want to get out and don't have anyone to play with. Course is nothing to write home about though. Rogers Park is pretty good for hitting balls and the balls aren't too beat up. Greens are kind of slow but in decent shape. World Woods and Lake Jovita are the best overall but they are too far to just go to practice.

Chi chi golf complex in Clearwater overall IMHO
