solid bag. do you have trouble with the Mizzy blades?
negative I'm all square. im an awesome ball striker, and rarely play a straight ball flight/ not that i cant work the ball with more forgiving clubs, it gets the creative juices flowing. i see that most on the site judge whether someone should play blades based on their handicap and average score. typical round i shoot 73-82 on bad days. current handicap is a 4.8.

ir really boils down to looks and i love the way blades look, and the 68s feel soooooo pure better than any other irons i have hit in a while. i could probably shoot under par if i could get my driver all squared away.
A young brotha that plays golf, you're alright with me dude (oops the white just came out, lol) anyway nice bag I could game that one myself. I've been playing Mizuno MP33's since 2001. If you can find the sweet spot rutinely can't beat them.

My 68s are irreplaceable. now i grabbed the 54's mainly because of the ctaper soft stepped x-130s thinking about putting them in the 68s. love the way the shaft feels compared to the DG's. i will say that adding a bit of forgiveness isnt a bad thing, but realistically with the 54s its not much forgiveness at all except it doesnt hurt the hands nearly as bad on mishits.

couple of updates. nothing special. figured i would stop in since the views are low

Im so in love with my MP54's over the past months. The KBS c-Taper shafts are sweet too but since they are not steplike, like my DG's, i will say they dont take as much of a beating and i had to replace my 8i shaft which i never had to do with my dynamic gold S300/400 shafts. nonetheless they are worth every penny.

currently looking to upgrade from the multi compound to some iomic grips, but they are expensive lol.

went back to my r1 driver and Rip Phenom x shaft over the SLDR. but i might pickup a 913 d3 just for kicks.

Randomly stopped by the Local Golf shop here in SoCal as i am looking at the 915 D2 9.5 degree with Diamana whiteboard 70 xflex and G30 9 degree tour 65 x flex.. neither of the 2 are displayed in the image im providing below ( the numbers average for both drivers 10-13 luanch, 1600-2300 backspin, averaging 287.** carry.. total 3** who knows what rollout you will get on these mildly mown fairways of public golf course hell) . Nonetheless. my numbers with both of thos drivers are optimal and is boiling down to feel and sound, but mostly price!

the numbers in the images below are just from random drivers on the right and 3 woods on the left.

Figured i would post up my current setup. My driver will be changing soon. More than likely to the G30 9 degree as stated in my previous post. I prefer it over my r1. Only thing is the 65 gram tour x flex shaft thats it comes with will need to be swapped out for a less torquey shaft and will need to do some testing with grip wraps to quiet my hands as my miss both on the course and on the monitor were left and as we all know. left is no good in tournament... most of the time.. without further delay. my current setup.

Driver:L Tayloramade r1, mitsubish tini kurokage shaft 60g xflex
3 wood: taylormade r9 speed shaft.. dont recall the weight its a stiff flex. i need an x flex shaft if anyone has one for sale.
no hybrid
Irons: Mizuno mp 54 with c-taper shafts 120g need to upgrade to stiffer shafts. i love the ball flight of the ctapers low and go but the 130 xstiff would do me just as seen on the LM
wedges: titleist vokey sm5 :: 52, 56, 60. I only carry the 52 and 56 (56 is perfect from 50-100 yards out one hope and stop shots)
ball: taylormade tour preferred x
bag: ping hoofer: lime green

Really wondering what shaft I should get in NY g30. I have an aggressive move from the top with my driver that yields the tour 65x shaft like a bommerang. While at the range a guy recorded me and it looked super bowed coming down. Thinking maybe 80grams but have not gone to test any aside from the Diamana whiteboard 80. Shaft testing can be strenuous .. Sheesh any ideas

Also don't want to stress the shaft too much, but don't want to change the driver transition from the top as it comes in handy quite often when I really want to nut a drive beyond 310 total (here in Cali the air can get heavy and moisture doesn't allow for much roll on some of the courses with water needing fairways... That aren't closely mown)..with level tee boxes

Nice bag Ewill! Though your clubs' specs are a bit stout for my swing, I would game the exact setup (after an appropriate fitting). Here's to a solid season!

I love golf

New shaft for me old one to my boy who gave it to me. UST mamiya xflex on my r9 tour issue.. A great fit. Now have my r9 tour issue sitting open a degree so I don't hook it off the planet . shaft is tipped one inch

I will say i like it a ton. it was hard to put it in the bag since i loved the R1 so much but i can work high shots, low shots fades and draws with ease.. not to mention the biggest sweetspot on the round earth as we know it. The one thing i hate about it is that its sooo friggin LOUD. my buddy works on one of the tour vans (shall remain nameless) and he says the ls tec model would be better to bore out the weight port add cotton and hot melt to deaden the sound... but sheesh thats a lot of work.. but i digress.. the driver is awesome especially when you swap out the stock tour x 65 shaft out for your choice of aftermarket shaft... have not put the r1 back in play thats how much i like it .

I may have to give the G30 another try, my R1 with the stock Aldila must just fit me perfect. thanks and keep me updated with the Ping.

been doing some work with my swing to get the hook out. i am finding my lead elbow (left) to be positioned obviously pointed towards the ground/ball for consistency.. but thats not the key. when i hook the ball my azimuth often went in extremes of open to closed. i am now maintaining my wrist angles from address to the top and through. in slow motion via my buddys iphone my wrist is slightly cupped at the top but the angle is maintained to ensure that the club is square throughout. with a flat wrist at the top my clubface is closed.. just an observation.

new specs for my driver after checking it out on the local flightschope. changed from 9.0 to 8.2 degrees per the club fitter/ also swapped the shaft out from tat standard flimsy ping shaft to the matrix ozik black tie... love this shaft.... also updated 3 iron. my old cobra amp cell plus got an upgrade. removed the graphite shaft that was in and replaced wit a true temper blck gold x stiff shaft... must say i love it ..

driver
ping g30
shaft- matrix ozik black tie
loft.8.2 degrees

3 iron
cobra amp cell+
shaft- true temper black gold

Also removed the 60 degree wedge from my bag because of low bounce.. it only had 04 degrees bounce and with the fluffy conditions here in California many of the courses played warrant more bounce.. so thats what i did. low round of the year thus far 65. my average is probably around 70-72.

Most recent updates

Driver: G30 shaft changed out to Oban Devotion 80g 05 Flex. The G30 head is so ligt a heavier shaft is required for additional control.

Irons: Swapped out the C-taper 120 hard stepped shafts for... more C-tapers just the 130x

Wedges: removed the s400 shafts and used the ctaper 120 pulls for 52-56-60.. on the 60 i may get their high rev shaft seeing as i only use it for partial shots and bunkers.

Aside from that everything else is the same. Still gaming myMP-54 Mizunos, C-Tapers and UST 80 Gram on my 3 wood.
