titleist 913f surefit problems

Hi,

I was playing around with my titleist 913f's surefit hosel thingy today. I've never used it before and wanted to see if it was as simple and relatively straight forward to use as people say it is.

I managed to get the head off, keeping the settings at A1, and scew it back on. I then read that it must click in for it to work properly. I tried to click it in but it wouldn't click(probably because I wasn't trying hard enough), so i decided to unsrew it again and then screw it again. So I unscrewed it fine and then started to re-screw, but i can only screw it so far in. The actual screw looks like it is not pointing straight down but slightly sideways, so now whenever i turn the wrench either way, the shaft simply rotates whatever way i turn the wrench which i think may mean I've not put the actual screw in straight.

Any one got any help they can give?

Thanks.

Firstly, whenever you are taking the head off, or adjusting the setting, make sure you stand the club up from the butt end of the grip and have a good stable grip of the club head. When you are putting the club head back on, make sure you hold it in a straight position and slowly turn the screw into the shaft. If it's screwing in crooked, unscrew and straighten it. Don't ever keep screwing it on if it's crooked. The titleist tools make a clicking noise after you tighten it past a certain point -- not the actual club itself. So be careful if you aren't using an actual golf wrench. I have a callaway wrench as well and it clicks. Obviously common sense prevails and if it is crooked or you are using a ton of force and it's not clicking, you can do some irreparable damage.

Hope this helps. Cheers.

Just to clarify I have been using the proper wrench that came with the club so no worries there.

The screw looks quite crooked so I'm assuming that's the issue, I had stopped screwing as soon as I realised that. I've tried unscrewing it but it seems that when I rotate it, the screw will not come loose and it simply makes the shaft rotate(it also won't tighten either). I can't hear anything rattling inside it so I don't think any parts of it have come off or are broken, it just seems the screw is stuck, not sure what to do next tbh.

The washer or piece inside the head that holds the screw in place when u unscrew it is probably loose. I'd try having someone pull slightly on the shaft to give it a little resistance and see if it starts unscrewing. When I pull my head off the woods or driver I always screw a little and give it a wiggle and gingerly screw in until I know it's perfectly aligned before securing it. Hope this helps

Grab the shaft tight and unscrew the darn thing. If it's stuck you must have gone in crooked pretty far to now have trouble getting the screw back out.

As stated above, you should be doing all adjusting with the butt end of the shaft down while holding the head in place on the setting you want. Like any screw of course you need to wiggle around a little to find the correct angle, but I've never had a Titleist club let you get that far before feedback sort of tells you to back it out a little and try again. The wrench is a tourque wrench so it will click when the screw is tight enough so you don't over-tighten it.

I can't wait to hear how this turns out.
