I don't understand how you forgot five headcovers.
[/quote]

Left them in the basket behind the seat. Shame, Shame on me.

Ouch! Dang! and you probably did not have insurance that would cover it. Keep a lookout on ebay some thieves are not exactly mental giants.

I had a Ping copper pitching wedge stolen at Jacaranda GC in Ft. Lauderdale a few months ago. Only time I've ever left a club on the course and it was never returned. Very upset with myself, not to mention the thief who kept it.

On the flip side, I left a small duffel bag with my office clothes, shoes, some cash, and BB at Crandon on Key Biscayne a couple weeks ago and retrieved it the next morning.

OMG, your head covers are lost! How shall you ever fix this?

First world problem. I can't believe that this is so worrisome.

Buy new ones and move on. A set costs about the same as a dozen Pro-V's.

If you leave stuff behind, it is not stolen. It is lost. If it is recovered, you are lucky.

(If I drop a $20, I wouldn't expect it to be returned)

I have proven beyond a doubt about the missing strawberries, exclaims Captain Queeg. "You see, I had counted the number remaining, and know for a fact that the stewards must have a duplicate key, its only because I am surrounded by disloyal officers that I was unable to bring these sailors to justice. As for cutting across the tow line, again its due to the incompetence of the officer of the deck and false information given me, otherwise I would have never given such an order. Its a conspiracy I tell you. "

Of course if I saw the person who dropped the object, it would be returned immediately. But if you found a $20 in the glove compartment of your rental car?

My point is just buy some new head covers and move on. I have worked at golf courses for 30 years. I never kept someone else's head covers, even though thousands passed through my hands. We'd sell them all for $1 each at the end of the year and use the money for the junior banquet.

(Note: I hate myself for wasting another 90 seconds thinking about this).

aw, give the guy a break. I rub a lot of people the wrong way I surmise. I can't tell you how many hours I have stayed up at night worrying about that. I really can't. ;)

Couple things...

Why do you take all your headcovers off during the round? They are more useful during the round when clubs are moving around than when the clubs are in your trunk.

Sounds like you don't know what they are used for and you don't need them anyway so you have been saved the trouble of keeping up with them.

Sheesh, I never thought this topic as miniscule as it is would generate so much attention, yet not one person even made at attempt to answer the original query which was "Why would anybody even bother to take an insignificant item in the first place?". One would think that they had their own. Most people were more interested in commenting on my negligence and ill advised choice of leaving them off for convenience, often with a snide remark. Maybe the last poster is right. I don't know what a head cover is designed for and I should thank him for enlightening me, (although that had already been pointed out before). I only thought it curious as to why only one was taken to the front office. IT AIN'T NO BIG DEAL, FOLKS! I guess I should not have posted it in the first place although it was done so more in the interest of human nature rather than the act itself.
