When was your first?
So we had a match today and I played pretty well and shot a 1 under par 35. We ended up losing the match though which sucks. We have gotten so unlucky lately. We put up a 194 and the other team put up a 181. The other team shot a 1 under for 5 scores which was the school record. It was at New Jersey National if any of you are familiar with the course. Im a sophomore in highschool. When was the first time you broke par in some sort of competition, either school match or a summer tourny?

I did it for the first time in competition last Friday. Our high school team was at Terra Lago in Palm Springs for a tournament, in the second Friday round I started on 8, shot 31 on the back, was 7 under through 12 holes, lipped out to be 8 under through 13, and then had a bogie (OB) and a double (4-putt) in the last 4 holes. I still shot 68, though.

The first time i broke par was Senior in Highschool a few years back and it was the season opener and playing a local course and i have shot even par many times and i wasnt even worried about my round i was worried that i lost my new phone so the round came second lol but i blew it out of the water the first time i ever did i shot 65 with 7 birdies 1 eagle and 2 bogies. Now it just comes more natural but with work of course. Congrats all though on breaking it and for who havent it will come

High School Tryouts - Freshman Year - 2 rounds

Joining a team that has won the last 3 State Championships

1st round - 80

2nd round - 73

I was nervous, but I managed to shoot 41 on the front side. Then the back nine happened. I shot 32 (-4) and finished number one amongst all 16 kids playing. Including Juniors and Seniors.

It was a joke how I did it, but it didn't really matter because I shot 32.

1st Hole - Par 4 Low drive, not good but straight. Worm burner, blade from 120 yds to 2 inches. Was told that it hit before the green, skiped twice and stopped 2 inches from the hole.

2nd Hole - Par 3 - Good shot to 3 feet. Made the putt.

3rd Hole - Par 5 - Missed drive, wormburner. Wormburner 3 wood to 10 feet off the green. Chipped up and made the 4 footer for bird.

-3 under after 3 holes

4th hole - Par 3 - Tough shot over water and a seawall. Hit to 3 feet. Impossible slope, missed it low in fear of 3 putting. Pissed at myself for wimping out.

5th Hole - Par 4 - Hooked drive under a pine tree. Punched out to 90 yds. PW to 50 feet. Made the double breaker for par. Unbelievable.

6th hole - Par 4 - Good drive. Decent 2nd shot to the fringe, pin high about 25 feet. Left the lag putt 10 ft short. Saved it for par.

7th hole - Par 5 - Good drive. Good lay up. Good Approach to about 30 feet. Left the putt a half of a revolution short of going in for birdie. Reluctantly tapped it in.

Best Hole - 8th Hole - Par 4 - Tough Hole. Long with water all down the left side. Turns into a seawall for the left side of the green. Hooked my drive left and was about 6 feet away from going into the water. 175 yds out, across water, bunkers right, trees in the back. Take my 4 iron and blow it over the green, onto 9's tee box. I have an opening, good lie, but I can't blade it or it's wet. Huge sloping green. Chipped it up to about 20 feet and made the snake putt for a crazy a** par.

9th Hole - Par 4 - Short Hole I hit the driver straight but really low again. I had about 90 yds and I stuck it to 3 feet. I made it for my 4th Birdie and a 32.

5 pars, 4 birdies, 11 putts, who cares about fairways, greens were irrelevant. It was all about getting up and down and making putts. Easy as that. The best I have done since that time, 2001, is a 33, 34 x3, 35 x5
