Driver that feels like a v-steel fairway wood?

Solid choice by going with the 983K. I am in the middle of making a 983k into a mini driver of sorts. I'm putting a heavier Blueboard shaft in it and going to cut it down to 43 or 43.5". From there I'll add some lead tape if needed to get the feeling right. Really looking forward to trying it out tomorrow. I don't game a 3 wood so I'm hoping this can become a fairway finder just in case my driver gets out of whack.

So I finally was able to take the 983k to the course. I haven't played in some months so my swing was rough to say the least, however the 983K behaved very nice

I hit fairway 5 times and missed the fairway 5 times. Not that great right? Well actually I was really happy, the ones on the fairway were comparable to any other driver distance wise. The ones that missed the fairway only slightly missed it, the biggest miss was about 4 yards off the fairway. Compare that to my newer and bigger 460cc heads and the 983k was remarkably accurate. I tend to miss the 460cc heads big time every now and then resulting in out of bounds situations, none of that with the 983k even on a shaky day not having played on course for some months.

Played my first tournament with the 983k last week, came in 2nd in the mid handicap category. This driver is just total confidence for me, hit 10 out of 12 fairways and the 2 misses weren only slight misses...again. Have to thank you people again for the suggestion, I'm really cofident with the longer clubs now (driver to 7 wood), short game is shaping up nicely aswell, now if I could get rid of that push with the mid irons then I should be fine for next year
