According to a report from Sina.com, loosely translated by Geoff Shackelford, PGA Tour China leading money winner Xin-Jun Zhang has been suspended six months for signing incorrect scorecards.

Zhang currently leads the tour with ¥650,600 in earnings this season. The top five members of the circuit's Order of Merit earn Web.com Tour cards as part of a partnership between the PGA Tour and the China Golf Association.

There are three events remaining on the PGA Tour China schedule this year and it is unclear if the incorrect scorecards will result in the change of any past tournament results.

When contacted by Shackelford, the PGA Tour denied comment.

I saw this in the mainstream media and wondered when It would show. Seems it was well known by other tour members that this had been happening. Sounded like it was blatant for the occurrences that were sited. I'm surprised that the suspension wasn't for longer. Doesn't seem like it could happen without the marker knowing.

"it is unclear if the incorrect scorecard will result in change of past tournament results"

Huh? They better change the tournament results...can't just let this guy get wins when he clearly cheated. You don't accidentally sign multiple scorecards wrong like that without help either, he's a cheater and shouldn't be allowed to play professional golf anytime soon.

I think the official term for this is "done a vijay".

Pretty sad, really. I got paired with him at a Pro Am and the kid is far more talented than anyone else on the Chinese Tour. Not surprising, though. The value system and moral codes here are "different." I wonder whether Nike will rescind his sponsorship. Seems to be a recurring theme with their athletes.

How can it be shocking if you suspect it happens a lot?

I can't imagine it happens all that much
It doesn't, and it's a HUGE deal when it does.

For real!

And why are tour level pros responsible for recording their own scores again?

The kid made an obvious series of mistakes. Let him serve his punishment, and then get on with his life.
One instance could be a mistake. Doing the same thing 3 times in a season is unforgivable (the first time around people looked the other way and allowed him to address the mistake. The other 2 instances he got DQ'd). He should be made an example to send a strong message of zero tolerance.

Yup. He has a full card locked up.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out in the media next year...bad look for the tour. The guy has won 2 events on the Web Tour this year but the media doesn't really lock into anything on that tour. The players are not pleased with his presence.

If he served a suspension and is following the rules there isn't anything the tour can really do so the "bad look" comment doesn't make sense. That said if I was playing with him I would watch him like a hawk and would probably have someone in the gallery watching him too.
