Golfweek Am Tour Championship

Just put my payment in. Who is going down to Hilton Head in October for the Golfweek Am Tour Championship?

First time doing it. Any recommendations for having a good time?

[/quote]I will not be there for the Championship (They don't have a branch of the tour up here in New England), but I will be there playing golf elsewhere... and now it also becomes clear why I had a hard time booking my rounds for next week. :lol:

What do you want to know? Lots of the courses listed are fun and fine courses.

I just saw this post. This is my second year playing. Last year was great, 4 of us rented a house on #15 at Harbour Town. The next part was just being able to hang with the boys and focus on golf. Three of us played mediocre, while the fourth tied for fourth in his flight.

[/quote]We're just off the 6th tee. It's fun sitting outside and hearing *!#$! as people slice/hook it off the tee on that tight but long par 4.

Played today with a guy on the tour at Arthur Hills (Kirk). Jeebus he's a long hitter.

That has to be my buddy. He flat out kills it. He has a bit of trouble knowing where it goes though.

That he did. I looked at the results when he was playing and appeared to be mid pack for his flight.

I played it probably 3 years ago and had a blast. I went by myself, so instead of getting a house on a course, I stayed at the Westin resort. It was beautiful, and I'd love to go back. The tour disbanded in the houston area at the end of the next season, and I had surgery so I had to miss out on it that year in 2012.

When I went, I stupidly decided the driving range the morning of the first round was a good time to tweak my swig. I was killing it on the range, and started really good. Fairway, green, 2 putt par on the first hole, then 8 iron to about a foot for a kick in birdie on 2. Then the wheels fell off and I proceeded to shoot 96, 94, 88 to take 147 out of 154 in the A flight, lol.

I'd like to get back into tournament golf, but surprisingly enough, the only big one I know of around here is the Golf Channel Am Tour and they play half of the tourneys out of town. Besides, I still haven't gotten my swing back after 2 back surgeries.

I went back in 05 or 06 with the Tidewater, VA tour when the championship was still at Myrtle Beach... Was a great time!

I played like crap because I drank like a champion!!
