Any more details? What irons did you compare them to?
Adams cmb......Apex pro......Tileist ap2.......Titleist cb........ping s55.......Length similar on all of them....Biggest thing i noticed and maybe some of you can explain this. With everyone of these irons, my launch angle was 20 -24. Every shot i hit with the 745's, was between 27 and 29. My swing felt good and it seemed as though i was swinging the same at all. All had s300's except the pings. I was hitting 7 irons.

The grind on the sole of the 745's might be throwing you off on properly setting up? I tried them about a week ago and found I really had to focus on my setup in order to not let the sole dictate my setup. Beyond that, they actually felt pretty good to me and flew around the same yardage as everything else I have tried in the past 3-4 months.

Another thing, I believe the lofts are weaker than all the clubs you listed so they will be shorter than the AP2/CMB/etc.

The feel of the 745 iron far surpassed my wilds dreams. By far the the softest feeling iron I've hit. I used to play 710 MBs and I love the more penetrating flight and enhanced trajectory control due to the sole grind on the 745.

I don't believe Wobgon knows what feel is if he is placing the cmb, apex, ap2 and s55 above these. I have hit them all and I can honestly say they pale in comparison to the feel of the 745.

Perhaps you could set something up so the members of wrx could come down to Florida and have you conduct a clinic showing us all how to tell what feel is.

I received my set of Z 745's about two months ago. I am still trying them out as I have not had a chance to play or practice much. Currently, WOW!!!!!!!!! I played 18 holes yesterday and today I am falling in love with these. I got TT X-100's put in mine and I have 3-PW. I can work them either way. Hit knock down shots. Love the new beveled sole design. As someone who takes a big divot I feel like these irons do not dig as bad as my last set (Callaway Razr X Forged).

We all know feel is subjective to the user but purely from a materials stand point all those irons you listed off are cast molded or have some sort of vibration dampening insert vs. Srixon who use a 6X's forging process. I have a hard time believing the 745 is the worst feeling out of that bunch.

I said, for me, the worse of the five.......I then said, i did not like the feel.....I never said they felt worse than all the others, although i was not impressed with the way they felt. There is more to how an iron feels than what kind of forging is used....Could be a lot of things such as how they fit the players setup and swing....Some are flatter....some are more upright etc. I'm not sure the sole grind on these is conducive to hitting off mats. I want to like them, i just did not.

I hit the 745's and loved them. Great feeling and forgiving. In the past I've played MP-33's, MP-64's and the 745's feel great. Just my opinion tho. And I usually don't like DG s300 shafts but thats what the 745's had. I can't say which feels better, but they all feel great. I still have both sets of Mizuno's too.

Interesting comments. The lofts - at a 28° 6 iron - are definitely not weaker than most.
http://srixon.com/clubs/z-745-irons/

I have a set, though have only had one round with them. I find them soft yet solid feeling, lots of mass behind the ball like the older popular Srixon irons (eg, i506).
I found them plenty long. Only time will tell with the unusual sole grind, but I found the PW very versatile for chipping, from the rough to hard pan. Actually, I wish there was a GW.

All I'm saying is the only irons that have the same feeling at impact are some older Mizuno Irons, Muira Irons and Epon irons that I've tested. Also, worth noting the Srixon Irons have produced the most consistent trajectory, spin and distances of the aforementioned products. The other irons mentioned earlier have many outliers. Not so much right or left, but more long or short without being able to tell at impact. Almost unexpected differences between with some of the others. Sometimes up to 7-8 yards short or long, and as you said I play for dough…. So being precise is something I take seriously…

For me feel is also about confidence. I know exactly the distance these irons will travel when struck correctly. That is why Its easy for me to not play guessing games from the fairway.

I had a set of those very special i506's. Wish I had kept them but I paid it fwd and helped a buddy out just learning the game and built him a custom set. Still remember the days when Henrik won the Players w/ them too.

I ordered a set of 745 5-P with a U45 23* as my 4 iron. Also getting a 745 A wedge off yahoo Japan to round it out. I think the sole on these is something special. The feel, looks at address, tungsten, face milling, just a great all around offering.

Have never hit the ztx 2s. But the new ones are worth a look if for no other reason than the sole design and tungsten. IMO

If you wade through all the complaining and bashing, sometimes someone posts something actually helpful!

Thanks - this did not occur to me. Looks like the usual importers have this available, so if the set is a keeper, I'll be ordering one.
