I bought a dozen of the Top Flite Gamers to try during the early season and come away unimpressed. I played on Saturday and did not hit the ball longer or spin the same as the

Pro V-1X which is the ball I normally play. It seems like every spring I get the bug to try out a new ball for something better, longer etc. and always come away disappointed. This afternoon I'm going to the Golf shop and buy the normal Pro V-1X's and get on with the game.

Ditto, I did the exact same thing after reading some reviews. The gamer was not longer, could not spin, and ripped to shreds after my first wedge shot with it.

Pro V1x stays in the bag..

Easily the best ball for me is the Prov1x, I have compared the tour ix and the b-330 side by side 3 different times for each ball, and the Prov1x is the best, I get the best distance off the tee with Prov1x, irons play pretty much equal and short game there is no better than the Prov1x, putting Prov1x is easy the choice. after those tests, I went out and bought 12 boxes of the Prov1x's......

That's interesting in the ball test that you had going. I had also looked at those same balls as candidates for some bag time but glad we both found out the same thing...........................................Pro V-1X's rule.

What swing speed do you guys have that are using the V1-x?

I used to play the V1-x about 6 months ago, because i thought its what was right for me, but made the move to cheaper balls for a while. I recently went out and bought some new pro V1's (not x) and was amazed at how far I was hitting them off the tee. It seems this is the longest ball ive ever hit.

I havent been measured in a while but i would imagine my SS is somewhere around 105.

I hit about 250 on a poor hit, 270 on an avg hit, and 290-300 when i catch a good one.

Should i give the V1-x another try? It has been about 6 months since i played them and I dont know If i ever even played the "new" model". Do you think the X could be even longer?

Thanks.

Very cool! For me it goes Prov1x, then b-330 then the tour ix. The others are good balls but Prov1x stands head and shoulders above the rest.......

LOL.....is this thread for real?

is this question for real?

I just love these ball threads.....people play 1 round with a ball and they always hit it farther, make more putts, chip it closer, etc.

Wouldn't 2-3 rounds give a better evaluation of a ball? Just a thought.........

no. not when I've hit every other ball and nothing has come close-for me. this is a FORUM...the 12 other posters before you were happy to give their opinions...on this FORUM. just a thought.

I did my testing 3 different times, Prov1x winner every time..... Tells me everything I need to know, not listening to some dumb commercial telling me that their balls are the best! I personally did my own tests and found out which ball is best for me.....

Exactly that's the point I was trying to make....that's what we should all do

For tournaments, I only play the Pro V1X (cost to much for full-time ball). My swing speed was around 110 last checked.

At other times, I play the NXT Tour. Just picked up some Burner TP balls and so far I am pleased especially for $23.

Callaway Big Bertha 815 14* Fairway

My swing speed is around 110 and use to be 115, when younger. I moved to the Pro V-1 the year that it came out and remember lining up the seam in the dimple pattern to maximize distance??????? I did find over the years that the Pro V-1 spun too much for me on the iron shots, especially the short irons and I was backing up the ball too much. When the Pro V-1X was available and marketed as a lower spin ball I made the change and should have never looked back. My experience with the X is based on years of playing it, not one round as indicate in one of the above threads. Just seems foolish each year to go in search of the "golden" ball when I know that it is the one I'm currently using. Oh well maybe one of these years I learn, or maybe the commercials won't be so enticing.

That's right it is a "FORUM"....sorry you didn't like what I said.

I know for a fact that what I said makes perfect sense....and I am sure the other 12 posters would agree. It wasn't meant as a personal attack towards you...I apologize if it came across that way
