Around the 3:00 mark in this video, Martin talks about the differences.

But to sum it up, it has a lanyard, it is easier to carry around, and you can inflate or deflate it as necessary.

You can make your own, it is not rocket science. But I bought one, and when I am home I really like using it. It definitely helps.

just bought one through the UK supplier. I made my own for £5 but it looks and feels like £5's worth

Here we go. My attempt which took about 2 minutes and £3 to make. And the tour striker which arrived today. 10 times the price and 100 times the quality. Easy to blow up and keep in your bag. I'll be using this on the range tomorrow and i can't wait. I'll get some videos up of me using it and we'll see what it does :)

I can see this coming in very handy for me. I find it actually helps most on pitching. Really keeps everything working together and i can focus on turning and re hinging. Weather is terrible at the mo. Once it clears i'll stick a vid up

I really liked the SmartBall - until it came in the way of my Orange Whip ;-)

I was warming up before a round and had the SmartBall laying on the ground while swinging with the Organge Whip my swing got a bit wide and - POP and the SmartBall was no more. The connection between the ball and the String broke and to make matters worse, the actual ball blew up as well.

So treat your SmartBall with care. It is only a very overpriced mini-beachball with a string attached and just as delicate. It is a good training aid though!

All I am saying is that you have to be careful with it. I am not blaming the product for it (just my stupidity) but it is just a beach ball with a string in the end. So it is very easy to get a hole in it. The ball is not made out of a thick plastic.

I agree, it looks like a beach ball....BUT...it is a fuzzy beach ball that helps to stay between your sweaty forearms. Now if you are in England, you don't have to worry about being over heated, so the fuzzy beach ball stays nicely between sweaters, too. Sorry to hear about you smashing yours. That sucks.
