I played 36 holes this weekend with this driver with the stock Diamana Redboard stiff and all I can say is wow, this this is seriously long. It has a funny sound and a different feel but boy does the ball jump off the face. It seems o not spin much and gets some decent roll also. This may be my new gamer.

Loud? No way! Very subdued for a Cobra.

I played one round with a 9.5° L5v. Not to fond of the 50g. shaft, seemed very soft. Need a little higher launch angle, any suggestions? Cobra claims the shaft is a high launch and I feel that a stiffer shaft will bring the launch down.

I have a DVS sitting around, might put it in.

Very low launch, anti left club and I can hit anything left. Stock redboard stiff is under rated - I carry 265 and It doesn't blow up when I swing hard. Slightly longer than the J33r, and I played that gem for years.

Encourages a correct set up by keeping your head and weight on the right side to get a higher launch.

I find it fades easily for a 460, which is exactly what I need in a driver. I don't care how a driver sounds, so I won't comment, but I can't feel off centre hits like I did on the J33r.

Strengths: Probably the longest driver I've owned (no run at the moment as its winter in NZ) and the more clubhead speed you generate the higher kick you can get from the shaft, fantastic wind club. Club sets up neutral on 0 setting and although the shaft feels like a bit flexy it doesn't react that way. I was intending to buy a V2 straight away but I think I'll progress with the stock shaft for now.

I love, love this driver. Being the club whore that I am, I've tried at least 10 different drivers since mid 2009 trying to kick this out of the bag and I just can't do it. I have a fairly quick tempo with a club head speed around 107ish and the stock Diamana performs awesome.

For 2011 I'm keeping the head and shaft but got another sleeve that I just put a Miyazaki C.Kua 39S into. We'll see how that performs but I can say I'm keeping the club.

This is a straight/small fade machine which I love. I want nothing to do with the left side...............

I'm a fan! I still play it and still enjoy it. My 8.5* set to 0 launches mid/low and has NO spin. It's forgiving and deep. It may take a bit to get used to the sound, but for those who've played composite drivers before, it should be a non-issue.

I got the sleeve on eBay from "fourseasonsgolf" who has a great rep and sales authentic stuff. Paid $26.50 including shipping and I bought another one last night for the Nunchuk I know I'm going to end up buying.

Floratine, just a quick heads-up on the Nunchuk/L5 combo. This is the ONLY combo I didn't like. I tried it for a few months and even had a bunch of my range-rat friends try it out and not one of the 7-10 or so guys liked it at all. The M.O.A.D. thread on the L5 found through trial and error, and I can attest to, that the L5 works well with slightly longer 45+ and slightly lighter (-75g) shafts. The L4 is exactly opposite as it's a heavier head. The Nunchuk worked much better in the L4 (it played 44.5"). I hope you have different results, though! Good luck!

Thanks for that info! I've decided against the Nunchuk for now. I love a light shaft and the 106g weight (even though they say its balanced) freaks me out a bit.

For now sticking with the stock redboard and I have a SF TP with a Miyazaki 43S on the way and a SF 2.0 on the way. Thats enough driver toys for awhile.

I used to love this driver. It was long and straight for me for about a year and was the first decent driver I played. I have the 11.5* with the stock 45g stiff shaft. My swing speed has increased about 10 mph since I bought it and I think the shaft is a little weak for my swing as I am starting to lose a bit of control. Average distance is around 260-270 on solid hits, 240-250 on off center shots, and the occasional shot nearing 290-300 on well struck draws.

However, the shaft has felt real weak lately, a lot like a noodle, and I've had some shots ballooning on me and all of my misses are farther off. I went to Dick's to demo drivers and noticed my swing speed was in the 108-113 range the entire time according to their LM, where it rarely broke 100 mph when I first bought the L5V. I loved the feel of the Razr Hawk with the stiff RIP shaft. The shaft felt much, much more controllable on big swings. Just picked up an Adams 9064ls 10.5* with the RIP alpha stiff shaft, so I will write up a comparison of the two when it arrives. The razr hawk was averaging 280 on the LM in 9.5*, so I'm hoping to get similar results from the Adams. I couldn't justify spending 300+ on the Callaway without at least trying the Adams. Got it for $120 on ebay and hopefully it will be here for this weekend.

Just built a 8.5* with a GD YS-6+ in stiff. Gamed it for the first time today. Loved the size of this driver. Had a hard time at first keeping it straight but thats a swing issue, not driver. Although by the end of 18 I was hitting her far and straight. One thing I love about this driver is the sweet spot. I hit it everytime except for one drive, and it still went straight, just slight thud and short, maybe 180-220 (cant quite remember now).

Thought I would build my first driver and build one before the new Cobra Amp Cell line came out early next year. Great driver!!
