Palm springs Jr

Hello fellow WRXers,

 

I am headed out to palm springs and am staying for 3 days and need some recommendation as far as courses go. First off I am a Jr. 14 years old and play off a 6 handicap so I can handle almost if not all courses. I know some courses out there have Jr. rate but not all of them. I have played both courses at indian wells and plan to play one of those again. Ive also played the dunes course at laquinta, hated the layout and dormant bermuda. Ive played silver rock for 30$ but i felt as if the front nine was just ok and i have also played the north course at tera lago and liked it but I want to play some different courses while I'm out there. I would like the courses to be close to the indian wells area as that is where I am staying. I would prefer them to have a jr rate as i do not want to pay upwards of 150$ per round. I don't mind laying twighlight as long as I would be able to play fast. Please give me any recommendations. Thanks.

If you can play silver rock for $30, I'd keep playing it. Desert willows fire cliff course is a great course, a good challenging course with a lot of sand traps. Shadow ridge is also a great course but I don't remember if they offer a jr. Rate. My favorite layout is the classic club but beware the wind. Most of these courses are a 20 minute drive from the Indian wells area.

You might want to use the search function as there are several threads on Palm Springs Golf. It might give you a lot of options to consider. Enjoy your trip!

Here's a link to rates for the area courses, but you can always call to see if kids get a deal and check individual websites, but it's a good list to start from.

There are lots of threads on courses out there. Honestly, it's winter and you'll be outside golfing. Save your $ and just get out there. Sunset happens quickly and I don't think I'd plan on "fast" as you may not necessarily be allowed to go out on your own, but you've been there before.
