I know this is digging up an older post... but can anyone comment on how the RIP alpha 60-S compares to the X-flex shaft? I have a 60-S and it's ok... feels nice but launches a bit high and (though I haven't had it on a launch monitor) seems to spin a touch more than I'd like in the Covert Tour 2.0 driver. Will the X flex feel about the same and bring the flight/spin down with the firmer tip? Or does it just overall feel significantly stiffer too? Thanks.

Mine spins quite a bit as well but not brave enough to move to the X. I flatten the driver lie angle and put some lade tape on the crown and it helped a bit.

I think I am going to purchase (pending my bid) a Callaway Big Bertha Fusion 3 Wood (15 degree) with an Aldila RIP Alpha (Red Eyes) 70 Extra Stiff shaft. I currently game an Aldila Rogue I/O 70 Stiff shaft in my Callaway 816 Head and the ball is getting too high with a 15 yard left move. Granted I have the setting at +2 Draw (so set at 18 degrees) but I have it set at this setting so I have a square face. It feels as though I need something to get the ball lower. I hit a Rogue Silver 60 Stiff in my 10 Degree Callaway Fusion Head and hit it 250-290. Wanting to know if going with the Extra Stiff in the RIP Alpha 70 is going to be too much for me to handle. I think I have a pretty aggressive transition to handle this shaft in a 3 wood but time will tell. Your thoughts are appreciated!

Hoping someone can help explain the 2,4 6 and 3,4,7 numbers on the rouge tour 115 shafts. I emailed aldila and their answer was... "The “3 5 7” or “2 4 6” has to do with the increase in shaft stiffness difference between the long, mid, and short irons." I asked for more info several times but was ignored ever since. Hoping someone has played them and can clarify this for me a little better

Had it/have it in my R11s 3 wood, still trying to kick this club out of my bag, it just give me that call shot feel, left/right, high/low, but it is better off the tee then turf for me and I feel like the head is missing a few yards now. My buddy still plays it in his fairway, solid shaft, can’t tell if Adila improved it, if so, what newer Aldila mode matches most closely?
