Info needed....
I went to a Bridgestone ball fitting at my local golf shop yesterday... Here are my specs..

Driver= Ping G10 7.5* Fuji Rombax 7Z08(X) Untipped

ProV1X

Club Head speed 116.2 Ball Velocity 153.0 Efficiency rating 1.32 launch angle 8.6 back spin 4097 side spin -297 distance 270 yds

B330S

Club head speed 115.9 Ball velocity 152.9 Effiency rating 1.32 launch angle 8.0 back spin 3420 side spin -300 distance 270 yds

He said my launch angle needs to be around 12.4 and my ball spin around 2410 which should produce 314 yd drives...

Question is... How do I achieve this??? Move to a 9 degree driver or change the shaft in the 7.5*???

Thanks for your input...

Until you start hitting it in the middle of the face, I would leave it alone. 1.32 is pretty low for a SF...You are correct in that you need to launch it higher and with less spin...Do you hit down on your driver a bit? This would cause both...

What do you mean not hitting it in the middle of the face??? He said I was hitting a 4-5 yd draw...Not sure what ef means... :)

Efficiency rating or more commonly called "Smash Factor" is how solid you are hitting the ball.

a tour player has a smash factor of 1.48-1.50

It is ball speed and club head speed divided. It shows how solid you are hitting the golf ball by the speed of the golf ball off of your face in comparison to your club head speed.

Basically if you are swinging it around 112 mph your ball speed should be around 165-170 mph. Since your ball speed was around 150ish that shows us that you aren't hitting it solid or your balls speed is low.

hence the comment from the previous post that "you need to start hitting it off the sweet spot"

Also when you do mis-hit the ball (like we are assuming you are from the ball speed) this will cause your spin rate to go up. Especially if you are hitting it off the bottom of the face or off of the heel of the face. So that is a good explanation for your spin rate being at 4000 rpm's.

Sooooo if you hit it more solid bring your ball speed up to 165ish to match your club head speed at 112. We are guessing that your spin rate will come down from 4000 and you will probably launch the ball a little bit higher as well. So maybe you don't need to change your shaft or your loft.

Although just from seeing that you are playing the G10 that is a LITTLE higher spin head than the FT5 or the new Tour burner

Thanks for your input. How do you suggest I fix my problem????

Pick up some impact tape and see where on the face you are actually striking the ball. Tough to make suggestions on how to fix a problem until the problem is known. If you are hitting a draw, I would suspect that you are hitting the ball out toward the toe.

Thanks, I will get some today......

first thing that caught my attention was the lack of ball speed... i don't swing the club with nearly as much speed as you do, but my ball speed has been measure 5-10 mph faster than yours... you're obviously hitting it very low on the clubface and possibly out on the toe a bit...

those spin numbers seem very high, with such a low launch, i'm surprised they got out as far as they did...

I totally agree... He said with my SS my drive should be 314 yds. On occassion I bomb one over 300 yds. Average is 270-280... Now I am wondering if my swing is jacked up???? :) :clapping: :drinks:
