There's an interactive chart in the forum where you can compare. They are close, the Z-Star has slightly more driver spin and some more wedge spin.

I played the B330 last summer except for a couple weeks with the Z Star XV. Spin off the driver is comparable and the XV spun a little more around the green. But after a couple weeks with the XV it became clear that it was 1/2 club shorter than the 330. So I sold the rest of my XVs and went back to the 330. As always, YMMV.

I play the XV on occasion, but one of my buddies plays the Z-Star and sometimes the B330s. He says the same as EddyUnk, the B330s has slightly more carry, but the Z-Star is magic spin around the greens. Here in Aus we have firmer greens and fairways, so spin tends to trump carry due to the need of holding hard elevated greens (and the firmer fairways give more distance anyway).

I used to be a bridgestone ball fitter and I will say that they're very similar products. Technically speaking, the z-star is a higher compression but not by much. I felt that the Z was a bit 'clickier' when I played it but it's performance was almost identical. From a design standpoint, the B330s has a bit more technology in it and the dual dimple pattern is one of the main reasons why it carries farther.

Thanks pierso2. I played the B330S in Scotland and even though it is the more skinny option, it was awesome in the wind…not ballooning or any of the issues others complain about. I should just stick with it and be a happy golfer.
