What putter did you use as a junior?

Like many i feel that my best putting days were in my junior years when a downhill three foot snake held no fear.

 

The broomstick now deeply entrenched in the bag i was wondering what the blade of choice was, and is for junior golfers today. i fondly remember my callaway bj 8 and wilson 8802 blade. i would also be interested in locating a bj 8, preferably uk based but its worth the shipping fee if i can put like a kid again.

Now, this was a long time ago, but I used a Ping My Echo. I putted lights out with that thing.

I used my dad's scotty cameron and also I think a zebra putter. my dad made got me fitted in a scotty when i was 7 and i still have a that putter in a case with my first tournament that i won...

Original 8802 that I got for $5.00 in a spare club barrel. (I still have that one).

 

I was a very good putter up until the time I was about 23. I could have

sank 3-footers with a 2 X 4.....

Ping Zing and Callaway Tuttle........still have them both and use the Zing on occasion.

First putter ever was the one that came in my Wilson complete set.

 

After cutting yards for a summer when I was 12, I bought a Ping Anser 3 in Manganese Bronze from the advice of the guy that worked in the pro shop/snack bar at my home course. That was in 1985. Still have the putter. I retired it last year actually because of the condition (yes I used the same putter for 20 years!). I never took it out of the bag because I worked my a** off for that putter. It hangs on the wall in my den now, but I still get it down and roll it on the carpet.

 

Now I use a Ping Anser in the G2 style. I really like it, but it's not the Anser 3! Might have to pick up another one eventually, but IT WILL NEVER HAVE THE MOJO LIKE THE ORIGINAL ONE! That thing won me more Cokes, Snickers, packs of Big League Chew, and hot dogs than I can imagine!

Almost embarrassed to admit it, but I used a Bull's Eye La Femme model from the time I was 13 through high school. I've always used a shortish putter (even though I'm 6'0") and the length let my arms hang naturally. Kinda liked the little flange it had on it, too. I never understood why my golf coach would get mad at me for shooting at a pin and missing the green, cause if I had just hit it in the middle of the green, I'd two-putt at worse. Not always the case anymore, unfortunately. :cheesy:

my very first putter was a ping anser, man was that baby nice. after that i had a taylor made nubbins.....still see a few of those in the used section of my golf store. i putt around with it at work and just stroll down memory lane.

I remember the day clearly, I was 14 and I was playing golf at my local public course. I was just getting really into the game a lot and I was looking to start buying a better set of clubs. I remember calling my mom from the course asking her to bring some of my money I had at home, so I could buy this Ping Anser 3 that was in the shop. I was so fortunate to pick it up that day, and I used it for all of high school golf until I was a senior when I switched to a Cameron Coronado. My first love. I still use the old Ping grip, not to imitate Tiger, but because I always loved that grip.

Ping Anser 2 BeCu that someone broke the shaft and I had to get a clubmaker to bore out the metal ball at the end of the shaft and reshaft that way because I didn't want to send it to Ping. It lasted until college when the epoxy basically cracked and Ping wouldn't take it back. Boo-Hoo. :cheesy:

I know that I'm 17 and still a junior but before I bought my 2-Ball Blade I had a Ping Anser 4 which was my dad's old putter. I believe he bought it in about 1990 so it was a relatively old putter but I really loved it.
