Average Joes, what's your driver & shaft combination?

First - Thanks for all inspiration!

For the first time this winter I have been working with a Trackman indoor to try and get a good combo.

95-97 SS, I have a love/hate relation with a G30 9*, can´t switch it out because it goes really straight.

I have bought some tips and off I went.. For a start I am a high spinner (3K-3.4K)

Got a hold of Aldilas old ProtoPYPE 60S, money if you want a really long shaft (46") (2.6K) 97-98SS
Aldila Rogue 60S Awesome feel! (2.2-2.4) 45" 95SS


And .. Rogue 70S 44.75 (1.8-2-0)! 93-94SS and max + (think it gets to 10*)

Smashfactor pretty even between the diffrent combos : 1.47--1.51
Same SW : D1 (backweighted the longer ones)

Distance: prettys much the same, a bit longer with the longer shafts but not much and of course sever blocks with the longer ones.

My plan for the year: Gamer 9*/Rougue 70S and find another head to have as a backup with the Rogue 60S

My love/hate relation keeps on :-)

9.0* (Set to Neutral) Cleveland Classic Custom XL with a stock R-flex Miyazaki Tour Issue shaft. This club has been money for me for well over a year and doesn't seem to be in danger of being knocked out of my bag.

9.5* Ping K15 with stock R-flex TFC 149 shaft. The shaft on this club is actually pretty decent (IMHO). I picked the club up new at DSG for about $70 a few months ago. It's not longer than my Cleveland Classic XL but it's probably the straightest driver I've ever played.

8* TaylorMade R11 (the original) with an authentic R-flex Diamana Blue Board shaft (tipped 1/2"). This club absolutely performs! It's just slightly less forgiving than my Classic XL.

12* Cleveland SL290 with a "made for" R-flex Diamana White Board shaft. Again, this club isn't the longest club I've played but it is EXTREMELY forgiving and straight.

You might want to check out the Cobra ZL Encore. One of the best drivers out there period. It's older now so you can save some money at the same time. I have four of them but my favorite setup is a 10.5 with reg flex Cobra oem Voodoo shaft out of a ZL. I've tried the newer stuff but still game the Encore.

BBA 815 10.5 set +2 D with a Fujikura Pro 63 stiff.

Original RBZ 10.5 set to standard with regular flex XConn5 shaft. Tried the SLDR with several different configurations and shaft lengths/flexes but it's just too low spin. Couldn't get enough carry. Unless I hit it perfectly drives felt like low knuckleballs. A good drive for me is 220 carry. RBZ refuses to come out of the bag.

I'm gaming the Ping G30 9 degree stock stiff shaft. Was gaming the Taylormade Superfast 9.5 TP version 1 with an Aldila NV 75X. Night and day difference. Probably given up 10 plus yards but the accuracy of the G30 on mishits is unbelievable. Need to get my irons dialed in now and I may be able to get down to scratch one day. Keep word is May. Can't wait to hit this driver in the summer. Played a few time in fall/winter and was able to poke it out a 275. Still missing greens with wedges. So frustrating!!!!!

G25 9.5 with a stock shaft butt cut to 44. I have a 9.5 SLDR sitting in my garage and will probably stay there. Backup is a Taylormade R11 9.5 with a stock shaft. Right now the G25 is my go to driver. The R11 is second and the SLDR is a distant third.

Bio Cell + set to 9.5 with an 'ahina 60 playing at 44" - This is easy to control and is my fairway finder for tighter courses.

I have the 3 wood and it's about my favorite club. So I bought a Cleveland Classic XL custom and like you was pretty unimpressed.
I wasn't sure if it was the shaft or how tall the face was - which I thought was great for the 3W.

It definitely had a very very brief run in the bag. I'd need my 12* SLDR, 913D2, 913D3, 10.5* SLDR, and Razr Fit to all get stolen for it to get back in the bag.

Diablo Octane 10.5 with stock Project X 5.0 Reg. Flex. 80 mph swing speed. Goes 220-240 carry plus roll. Had a couple 250+ last year, with the help of a tail wind. Would not part with it for all the tech out there. Got the 3-wood to match with stock Cally 50G reg. flex shaft. Will eventually get into the 21st century with all the tech...

I can't settle on any of my drivers (head or shaft combos).
I got a G25 with basically 4 to 5 shafts to choose from.
The same goes with the G30 SF Tec...
Nice to have the option to switch out shafts, but makes my head spin for someone as indecisive as me.

An old Callaway RAZR Hawk Tour 9.5 degree, that measures closer to 10 degree's, D2 swing weight at 44.5 inches with a Nunchuk.

Tried several newer combo's but nothing has beat this driver for a fairway finder.

Swing speed- 115. on the launch monitor today I was carrying 285 ish. I'm looking into a newer/better shaft. I should probably go get fit.

TM RBZ HL set to 11.5deg with an open face. YS7+ Reg tip trimmed 1.5". 44.5" in length.

Longest driver I've ever had and with my open face and heavier shaft, going left is gone. It's either straight or a slight draw. Just love this combo.

interesting - I've been looking at them but struggle with the price of entry. Although if it's the right club then it would stop the other multiple purchases! How do you like it?
