Seeing exotics: yeah nice.
Owning an exotix: quite expensive. (Just ask the owner of a Veyron how much the dealer charges for the mandatory maintenance every 5.000 miles. ~30k $)

I do own a rare car, but it's not all that exotic in the sense that it's just 218BHP. But there's only 2000 built, maybe 1.700 left. Also it's just 1000kg and its a freaking Mini. Okay a Mini Cooper S JCW GP kit, number 0064/2000

Most fun car I've ever owned or leased and ive had some pretty cool cars.
If you have a million dollars to spend on a car I have a hard time believing that you'd be concerned about the maintenance costs, just saying.
If you drive your Veyron about 20.000 miles per year, the cost of ownership is estimated to be over $150.000 per year. That's 15% of that 1 million dollar budget. That's a brand spanking new Audi RS6 every year and enough money to take the misses to the Maldives for three weeks, flying business class, in the 5-6 star resorts and all.

My little cart might not seem much, but I've had more fun driving it then the 330xd I drove once.

12tqmale: it's a KIA dude. How about the AUDI's (RS3/4/6), BMW C-class, Golf R edition wagon, even SEAT and Skoda have great wagons with lots of power. Okay the KIA does look good, but it's probably all cheap plastics again. :(

Slapping the ball around a bit, having loads of fun.
Almost nobody is going to drive a car like that 20,000 miles a year! At most probably 2,000 miles would be more likely. So while your math is good, the odds against anyone driving a Veyron that much is are really bad. :-)

I think the flaw in your logic is that the guy buying a Veyron OWNS the resorts and the planes and an island in the Maldives. He/She does not care about the cost of ownership. They make that kind of money doing Yoga on Tuesdays.

People who are worried about money don't buy Veyrons. And 20,000 miles per year? LOL

And why would you take the misses to the Maldives when you can just take her to Manchester for a fraction of the price. See what I did there?

20,000 miles a year? Lol! He isn't using it to commute to his cubicle job at the insurance company like the rest of us, it's an expensive toy for the super wealthy.

After owning 4 Bmws, and 2 vw Passats, Audi A4 in disguise, in the last 11 years I'm thinking of change.
That Kia was designed by a team in Frankfurt, probably why i like it.

ROFLMFAO at putting 20,000 miles a year on a Veyron. But hey, if someone did, I'd respect the heck out of that. Drive these cars! I know someone who got to work on a Veyron in Atlanta, but he never did tell me who the owner was. I can promise that the owner wasn't flying commercial to the Maldives or anywhere else, business class or not.

Can't believe I'm going to comment about a KIA in a cool / rare / exotic / crazy car thread, but I am. It looks OK I suppose, but I can't see how the outward visibility wouldn't be a complete pain. I also do not think that design will age well -- the styling that appeals to the Transformers crowd usually looks dated in 18 months.

I went to SEMA so that's kinda cheating in itself but also when I go to Vancouver there's a couple car studios that I always hit up and here's a few notables I've seen. Carroll Shelbys original Shelby Cobra, couple Veyrons, Lamborghini Reventon (2 million dollar car), BMW i8, Ferrari Enzo, F50, F40, Liberty Walk Aventador, Liberty Walk 458 Spyder, Elysium GTR, Maserati MC 12, McLaren P1, SLR 722S, the last Ford GT made, that car that had 2 motors on Counts Customs, Ken Blocks rally car, Hennessey Venom GT, and of course my 06 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Look up SR Auto. They have a Vancouver and a Richmond location. Plus in the surrounding blocks of their Vancouver location is the Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, McLaren, Rolls, Audi, and a couple other studios. It's a couple blocks from Granville Island just off West 4th. I always make sure to stop by whenever I go to Vancouver. They have a pretty good instagram page that displays everything they have rotate through.

Today in my 25 minute drive home from the golf course

Bentley Continental GT with horrendous graphics on the lower rocker panels
McLaren 650s
and a 458

Saw 4 different GTR's in the last week too, actually surprised I dont see more around here, from a supercar standpoint dont get anymore bang for the buck than from that car, but I guess 4 different ones in a week it must be picking up steam.

I see your typical exotics Ferrari & Lambos all the time but about 12 years ago my dad and I were heading up to NH to golf, I see 2 profiles ahead of us, They were 2 McLaren F-1's riding next to each other. A black one and an orange one, The latter is the LMR edition, there were like THREE in all of the U.S. There is a man Bruce Seldorf in Boston, a VERY wealthy Investment Guru, at the time he had 3 F1's in his collection. He stored them at Turner Motorsports up close to the NH Border. He ended up selling the LMR to Ralph Lauren.

My dad had NO clue how rare of a site we were looking at.

Not technically "on the road" like the Tucker I posted about before, but saw a '67 Coronet R/T convertible Hemi driving at a car show. Mopar Nats.

It's a "1 of 1" car, of a model they only actually made 2 of. One automatic, one manual. I saw the automatic.

To put it into perspective, throughout the Hemi car era of 1966-1971, Chrysler built roughly 8.4 million vehicles. Of those, only 179 were actually Hemi powered convertibles. So they're rare to begin with. Seeing a "1 of 1" is not as difficult as one would think, with paint colors, options, etc a guy can decode a build sheet to come up with a "1 of 1" in a year they made 1,000 cars, but seeing the ONLY ONE made AT ALL is kinda cool.

You're exactly right on the seeing a 1 of 1 thing not being as difficult as one might think. My dad has a Porsche 930 Turbo factory Slant nose. He bought it off the original owner this past summer as 'fun, investment car'. The color on it is interesting to say the least (its Cassis Red Metallic... which is basically rose pink). He had it appraised/reviewed by a independent guy here in Columbus. After researching the car it's been determined it's one of 3 930 slant noses made in that color. It's very possible, especially with the amount of 930's that were wrecked, that its the last factory slant nose in that color on the road.

I'm about to break my 71 Challenger 440 six-pack out. Maybe I'll record a video of what it's like to have 3 Holley deuces friggin open on the 2-3 shift.
I freshened it up, and it looks all stock except for the hooker comp headers. I've some drag radials I use when I'm serious.

Some of those cars are so incredibly rare, I moved a 69 barracuda 340 with the mod top option, that only been shown for the last 20 years.
I mean really daisy flowered top and interior! What car collector collects these, better be in touch with your feminine side. I tried to talk a buddy into it, who named his daughters middle name hemi it, for graduation.

I've heard there were actually 3 Coronet R/T Hemi drop tops built in '67. One auto, two manual. The folks @ the show that day were arguing back n forth about 2 vs. 3 but at any rate, there are some rare, rare cars around.

The mod tops are an acquired taste, for sure.

Just had to decline an insurance policy today for someone wanting to insure their 458 through us and nothing else. They didn't want to write it through Hagerty either which was kinda weird. Funny how people who want to insure a six figure car as cheaply as possible
