Shady's WITB Long Time No Update!

Been a long time since I updated some pictures, changed almost the whole set. Going into my senior season really wanted to try and take full advantage of it. Really enjoying each round this semester and taking it all in!

Really happy with the set and how it is now, just 1 or 2 clubs that should be worried about losing their spot

 

 

 

Driver: Ping G30 LS Tec Fujikura Pro 63 X

 

3 Wood: Ping G30 Fujikura Pro 73 X

 

Hybrid: Ping i20 20* hybrid

Thinking about making a change here, haven't decided to what club yet though, stay tuned

 

 

 

Irons: Ping ie irons 4-PW KBS C Taper 120 S+

Far and above the i20's that I had previously

 

Wedges: Ping Glide 50, 54, 58 SS KBS C Taper 120 S+

Thinking of going with a 60* ES instead of the 58*, havent made a final decision here either

 

 

 

Putter: Ping Putter Lab Anser Redwood

Superstrok Pistol GT 1.0

Just picked up one the Lab Redwoods on eBay and couldnt be happier. Havent had an anser style putter in a long time, had the ketsch and spider previously, but this putter is top notch. Love the feel and feedback that I get from it. Was able to get it bent to my specs and have no complaints whatsoever!

Nice set man! That burner is becoming a classic. That was generation of TM clubs I played. Ha, we are both all Ping except for our drivers.

Thanks! It certainly is becoming a classic! I heard the TP version of the driver and the 3/5 wood are incredible..

Nice bag, like the look of that putter

What is your driver swing speed ? I was looking at getting the ls tec in the same loft, shaft, stiffness. I am also looking for a used set of i20 irons.

My driver swing speed is 104-108, was right on the cusp of getting the X-stiff. I did hit the x-stiff really well one time, but the ball flight is lower if you are in the "swing speed range" for an x-stiff. I am used to seeing a high ball flight with my current gamer so in the X-stiff the ball flight was a bit low for my liking.

Awesome story and nice bag. I too played for a tiny NAIA program in central Ohio way back when (2000-2004). We weren't very competitive BUT it was an experience that I wouldn't trade for the entire Milky Way. We played some pretty good golf courses and the memories shared between my team mates and coach couldn't be purchased. Good luck to you in your endeavors!

Thank you very much! I am very lucky to be at by far the best school in the conference as far as facilities and coaching goes. At a few tournaments in the fall the kids would tell me that their "coach" was the head football coach and they didn't see him until the spring, let alone get out to practice at all. Our coach is a PGA professional at our home course and gives us all access when he is there. Definitely count my blessings every day that I have this opportunity.

i25's are great irons, cant wait to get the glide wedges either. They just look stunning. First wedge that "wow'ed" me on release. Had to upgrade from my Gorge Tours immediately haha

I actually haven't seen the glides in person yet. I live in the middle of nowhere bavaria with not a golf shop around. I ordered them 16 Feb, and they are still not here. I can't wait to see them, I hope they are as good as you say.

I have only seen them in person, hit a few shots into a monitor. They just look amazing down by the ball, I really liked the finish on the Gorge Tour's but the Glide's just screamed to me upon release. I have them ordered along with the G30 LS Tec
I believe that my asst. coach put the order in for them last week; hoping they won't take 3-4 weeks to get here. The anticipation is killing me. Although we did just get 10" of snow this week so not sure when I will be able to put them to the test on the course

Just posted pictures of almost my whole new set since my last update. Pretty set except for the hybrid and 58* wedge. May go 60* ES Glide
Also looking at the new G hybrid and the crossover as potential replacements!

Putter debate:

 

Have had the Redwood for about a week, feel like I am starting to adjust to it. But the Ketsch still plays on my mind. Thinking about going back to it. Although I love the softness of the Redwood, the Ketsch is almost point and shoot for me now going back to it
