I played one for 3 years. What does that say? I played it with the stock shaft, Purple Ice, Fuji 869, and V2. I finally ditched it about two months ago because I haven't quite been able to get to the par 5's in two so I've been looking for something with less loft. Ever since I've ditched it I can't hit a fairway wood, no matter what it is. I may have to reshaft that bad boy again and stick with it.

I really like them- I have 4 Cleveland fairway woods (17, 19, 22 and 25 degree) all in stiff flex. Like the clubs, got them on closeouts, less than $100 per club.

The OEM shaft is a shaft for swingers not hitters.

Current bag has a Mizuno 3 wood with the NV stiff shaft. The NV shaft in this club also needs a smooth swing.

BTW, I also have the older Cleveland Quadpros in the 3 and 4 woods.

I feel Cleveland puts out a great fairway wood head and there are a number of shaft upgrades available in the $50 to $80 range.

I finally picked up another Launcher Steel but in 15° instead of 17° with a YS-7 X and I love it. I don't know why I didn't just do that from the start. This is BY FAR my favorite fairway wood of all time. I was going to put an 869 in this, but I'm really liking the YS-7. It's an X flex, but definetly doesn't play that strong. What an awsome stick!

I love it! I love it! I love it!

Original Launcher 17° with the Aldila NV75 S @ 42".

Great from tee, extremely hittable from the fairway. A winner.

This is one of the better FW's out there. I play the 2006 model, and I've yet to be disappointed with it.. The one day I wasn't playing well with it, was because of a massive swing flaw (moving head), and I had that fixed and was back to striping it down the fairway. I'll admit, the shaft isn't the greatest in the world, but if I'm hitting it 250 down the center of the fairway, whenever I pull it off the tee, and 220+ off the turf, then I've yet to find a reason to pull my driver, and yet to take it out of the bag.

i just got a 15* the other day from dicks. i got on the launch monitor there and was hitting it about 245 with a 100mph ss, turned to my cousin and said, "well, josh, i'm getting it now." i originally went to dicks to just knock some clubs around, but the sound, feel, and weight of this club is so nice. i sort of agree on the shaft comments, but for 80 bucks, this is a keeper. i went to my local muni and was knocking it around in foggy, heavy aired conditions about 240 with roll. i hit one off a tee for ha-ha's and hit it about 250, so there are no complaints here. i am going back to dicks in about a week to get the 19*...

I have a 17* with the stock fuji gold stiff shaft and it's terrific. I took it out of the bag for a while as I was trying some hybrids, but those are not for me. I hit this thing about 250 off the tee and around 240 off the deck, and it makes a great compliment to my Taylormade TP Burner 3 wood. I wish they still made them.

Wow, thats pretty strong yardage for a 17*. I've been thinking about getting one of these myself. So if I may ask, how far do you hit your 3 wood? Also, what is the next club you carry, a 3 iron? How far do you hit your next club, I'm just trying to get an idea of the yardage gap between a 245 yard 17*, 3 wood and I assume 3 iron.

It must be a really slow day at the shop if all you could find to do was look for a post of mine to comment on. Maybe your time would be better spent ordering merchandise for your understocked establishment. After all, most golfers buy on impulse, and it's hard to have an impulse if there's nothing to look at. There's a metaphor in there somewhere. As far as how far I hit my three wood; I hit one today that was 260...not bad for an old man. I can hit my 3 iron 215 to 220 on a good day; which leaves a 20 to 30 yard gap between 3 iron and 17* fairway wood. You should get out more, broaden your horizons, stop making excuses and play in the Valdosta Open...maybe even the Georgia Amateur or Mid Amateur. Of course; that would mean you wouldn't be able to play Frances Lake from the whites (6200 yards is it?) anymore - and then what would happen to that 1.1 USGA handicap. 7000 yards, that's a long way...and with that 7% dispersal average for a tour pro - lets see...at a hundred yards that's only 7 yards either side of the pin, but at 200 yards that's 14 yards either side. 28 yard margin for error is a lot of missed greens. I smell a rise in somebody's handicap...
