Ball suggestion

So I'm coming off a 19 year relationship with titleist. I switched irons about 1.5 years ago and driver this week. Now I'm ready to find a new ball. No real reason just feel like switching and seeing what's out there. I have played the pro v 1x since it came out and titleist balls only since 1996. I'm getting older now and would like some suggestions on balls.

Driver numbers were 100-102 swing speed, 13-14 launch angle with a ping i25 9.5 with pwr 65 ts. I'm a high spin player, lots of back spin and side spin with driver. The i25 got me in the lower 3300-3500 but other drivers that number balloons. Would like a ball with good distance but really like something I can control around the greens. I tried the tm tp red (?) a few years back and liked the feel.

Anyway TIA for suggestions.

So far I'm looking at these two, the b330 rx looks like the proper Bridgestone to try, and a callaway offering.

Just finished playing the Callaway Chrome Soft for a week in Arizona (S of Mesa) and I've got nothing but good things to say about them. Soft, long, spins and way less than ProV's. I know my days using ProV's or TM Tour Preferred are done.

Ping G430 10K 10.5º Chrome 2.0 S (on order)

Ping G400 9º TFC 419 Stiff at 45" (soon to be mothballed)

The Wilson Staff FG Tour X would be a good fit for you. It does everything a little better than the prov1 X.

Agree with all of this. The number one priority in the OPs brief is control around the green, and the CS is a revelation in this department. I have never used a more consistent ball around the green than this. Not only does it stop real quick on flighted shots, it stops consistently. None of the problems I've had with other tour balls of stopping too quickly on one hole leaving you a long putt, only to bounce and run way past the hole on the next. I think the reaso why is cause the CS doesn't rely so much on spin, it stops cause it lands softer than other balls. Balls like the ProVs are spinnier, but either spin heaps if you catch it perfect, or don't stol at all if you don't. The CS seems to run out the same distance on flighted shots around the green, even on slightly less than perfect contact, or at least the difference between nipped perfect and hit slightly off is much smaller than other tour balls. I have found my margin for error much wider with the CS than previous tour balls.

I have to second the Chrome Soft. Feels very solid to me off full shots, and buttery off feel shots and in short game. Very low spinning off the tee, supreme spin control around the greens I had a terrible driving day yesterday, so missed a lot of greens. My scrambling saved my butt, thanks in part to this ball. Missed 12 greens, scrambled 11 times, not including the pitch that teetered on eagle on the last par 5 leaving me the shortest brush in birdie I've ever seen. Callaway balls hold better in the wind than anything I know, which is a big factor. I played ProV1x since they came out and the Professional 100s before that. I have a very high SS, but everyone I've known who have personally tried them are in love.

When in your shoes, I'd buy sleeves of several balls and take a little time demoing them. I'd also recommend looking at different driver shafts, as spin should never really be an issue with the i25.

I haven't been able to try the CS yet. I have a dozen and I'm just waiting for the weather to clear and I'll give them a try. But I have been playing the B330 RX and I really like it. My swing speed is close to yours and the RX works great for me.

My suggestion is the B330RX or the Chrome Soft.

If you like the feel and performance of the Pro-V1x then I wold look at the Srixon Z-Star XV. Best ball on the market, IMO.

Lower spin off the driver but very friendly and controllable around the greens. They are also extremely durable (especially the tour yellow) compared to the Pro-V line.

Don't ask Stacy Lewis after the last weekend. Seemed she was having trouble controlling her new Srixon's. Wonder if she'll go back to Titleist's?

Only reason I watch LPGA is to see "sourface" beat up on herself and last week was great.
Of course it's never her fault. It was the ball... Lol
