Knickerbocker's WITB (2017 Update)

I have been on WRX for four years and have never done a WITB. So I guess I should start now

 

Driver: TM SLDR 460. 10.5 Head set to 11 with two clicks towards draw. Shaft is a Oban Devotion 06 Stiff Flex

Fairways are Callaway XHot Pros 14.5 and 19 with stock Project X fairway shaft

Irons: 3 - PW Ping i25s. Purple Dot with KBS C-Tapers Stiff Flex 1/2" long

Wedges: 52 and 58 Ping Tour Wedges. Purple Dot with KBS Tours Stiff Flex 1/2" long

Putter: Bettinardi Signature Series 5 33"

Ball: Callaway Chrome+

Bag: Ping Poineer

Cart: Bag Boy Express

I played the S56s the last few years and liked them, but needed more forgiveness and easier launch in the mid-long irons. I think the s55s are very solid.

I bought them last year when I was playing KBS tours in my s56s, so I wanted them to match. I like the smoother feel of the Tour compared to the C-Taper, so I think I will stick with those for now. Honestly - I don't see a whole lot of difference in shafts for wedges.

New Driver: Ping G30 LST with Tour AD-DI 7s
Fairways: Same
New Hybrids (because I finally gave in): Callaway Xhot2 with Stock Tour Green Stiff
Irons: New Shafts - Nippon Modus 120 X
Wedges: New Shafts - Nippon Modus 120 X
Putter: Same
Bag: Same
Cart: Same

The G30 LS is really incredible. Perfect is every way for me. SLDR Spin and Distance with a lot more forgiveness. It is not as long as the SLDR, but it is damn close.

The Nippon Modus Shaft is also awesome. I almost ordered my Pings with that Shaft from the start, but I went for the C-Taper. Performance is similar, but feel is 1000 times better with the Modus.

Nice bag I'm looking to get into the modus 120x shafts as well. Played ctapers like the performace didn't care for the feel and I bent the tips of the shafts. Playing recoils and like them but would like to try the modus 120.

Great Bag! I played the SLDR for a bit myself, but the PING driver is just too good. I also think that those xhot woods maybe the best out there.

2017 Bag:

 

Big Change: New Irons!! I have been dreaming of buying a set of T-MBs since I first saw them. For some reason, I just think they look sexy as hell. I really loved my i25s for the first two years, but last year was a struggle and so I needed a change. I found a great set of T-MBS on e-bay in my specs and I couldn't pass them up. I was not sure I would like the S200 shaft, but it is really nice. TT is always pure. I have had them out of the course and I love the turf interaction and the flight is a flat medium trajectory and long!

 

Small Change: I moved from a 10.5* G30 LST to a 9* G LST. I also went from the Rogue Silver to the Rogue Silver i/o. With a great deal of work, I have moved my AoA from -2* to +3* so I am going to lower loft. Spin with G30 LST was about 3200 and the lower loft and different shaft has me down around 2700.

 

Fairway and Hybrid remain the same from last year. I switch out an 18* FW with same specs depending on course.

 

Wedges stay the same - will probably look at a wedge fitting in the fall.

 

Putter is same as last year with the CB Odyssey Rossie Tank.
