Wilson duo spin vs. Maxfli soft-fli

Both claim 35 compression, the Maxfli $12.50 a doz. Wilson $26.00. I do not know how maxfli does it??? Or should ask how do we let others charge so much for name brands like Titleist, Bridgestone, Nike, ect. Are we sheep or do you think that golfers will start making better choices with our dollar by taking our dollar to the internet along with a little research and make a smarter choices. That being said I try to stay loyal to my brand, Wilson, but they were really bad for many years but have turned into a very good contender in all aspects of the game. When the duo spin gets down to around $20.00 I will use them for my boys, 10 + 8, for now I will use value when balls are very close and preform about the same. I love the fg tour ball, but at $45.00, vs. $17.50 for Maxfli u4 it's a no" brainer".

I haven't played either ball, but do find it interesting that many average golfers pay way too much for a golf ball because of branding. I was guilty of that for many years until I tried the original TF Gamer which opened up a whole new world. I played the Maxfli U/3 for most of last year at about $20/dozen. Dicks has a great advantage by being the manufacturer and retailer with no one in the middle. But if people are willing to pay $4/ball I cannot blame the big guys for pushing their golf balls, but Titleist's 2014 Prov1 marketing program is a classic example of misleading advertising, although they have changed their approach for 2015 after backing off the claim that the ProV1 will "perform" for all golfers, and when being called on it saying that performance = high spin. The last thing some of us need is a very high spin ball.
