"new in box" DT wound 90

I didn't want to post on an old thread but just for the heck of it, I got a box of DT Wound 90 on EBAY. They are supposedly new, unopened in the box but with "Joy" logo's. I used these long ago as my go to ball just as the balatas were phasing out. My thoughts were similar performance but more durable cover. That and nostalgia I suppose. Anyway, $19.95 is about the same price as the DT Solo of today. As I recall, they were pretty lively around the green and I did like the feel.

me too. Still is to a certain extent when I can find them. I am not good enough to notice a discernible difference when used with modern equipment, plus my clubs are not all that modern excluding the mixed hybrids I got (Adams Ao12) which I wish I never bought. Sure I use them, and they are forgiving, but I also have a second bag of Hogan Edge's, with a couple of Tourney V-Foils thrown and they are more fun when I am hitting well enough to find the sweet spot consistently.

I still find them on the course every once in a while. It takes me back in time. I used those balls too.

I found a Titleist Tour Balata 100 in a bag of shag balls I got at a thrift shop. Cleaned up really nice and not a ding on it. Has a "La Quinta" logo on it. I don't know where its been or whether or not its ever seen water, but the feel of this thing is amazing. In that same bag was also a Professional 100 in good shape along with a dozen or so Pro V1 and Pro V1x. I am sure these are nothing more than "lost" balls and some may be in good shape still. I got two bags of 50 for less than $6.00. Right now they are sitting in a bucket in my yard for hitting into the net. A few I "cut out of the herd" and am putting them in play. The DT wound I looked for on Ebay and decided to just get them.

I have a "collection" of balls I have found, and picked up as freebies from garage sales. I pretty sure I have a dozen DT Wound 90 in the bunch. I have balls of most brands, most of which are out of the marketplace. If you are looking for a ball, I can look to see if I have any, if anyone is interested. Wow. Titleist Professionals. Blast from the past. I remember digging through the used ball bin at the grocery store for those.

"blast from the past" to me sounds odd probably due more years have passed since I worked at Titleist when the "professionals" first came out. Still sounds like recent history, but I guess I really have not worked there since around 1998. At the time, the 975/976 drivers were the state of the art having replaced the fugly Howitzer. The Oversized + Black and Gold irons also. I had a set of the DCI blacks that I still wish I had not sold on ebay.

Oh lord!! I just found a few unused boxes of DT wound balls in the garage last week. I was going to throw them out thinking they were so old and just sitting on the shelf all these years. Not a ball I'd want to use now.
