Srixon Z-urs

Close to Pro-V1 performance??

Looking to buy new golf balls and the Z-urs seemed to be a nice fit. I've been playing Pro-V1's for years. How do the Srixon's compare especially for short game control. Do they hold greens, spin, soft off putter, etc??? Any other ball recommendations are welcome too!

Great ball. I switched to zurs from prov late last year. They are a great replacement. Zurs hold greens better but do not seem to "dance" or "drop and stop" and I noticed that they seem to roll more on green side chip shots than the prov's but that fits my game better. Some people on here feel that they are not the best in the wind if you have high trajectory but I have not noticed anything that stands out as an issue. I am toying with the zurc right now because it seems to have a litte more distance off the driver and feel firmer than the zurs on puts/chips.

I really like the ZUR-S ball. It spins good around the greens and feels great off of the tee. And to remark on the durability - no question IMO that it holds up better than any ProV golf ball.

I have currently made a switch to the ZUR-C ball and could not be happier. Slightly firmer feel off the tee and a few yards longer for me than the ZURS but holds the greens perfectly.

so whats the main difference btwn the Z URC AND S? Why did you switch from the S to the Z....besides the distance and firmer, is that all that seperates these two?

The URS is a ProV1 feel with prov1x perfomance, specially around the greens. I think its the best ball aroud since the V1 can get too spinny with the short irons.

 

The URC is the Srixon with most spin, altough it feels firmer than the S it spins quite a bit more imo.

Wow, I'm in the minority here it seems. I tried the ZUR and thought it was a bit harsh feeling. Not "Top-Flite" hard but definitely harder than most premium balls that I've played. For me, the test of a new ball begins around the green, and the ZUR didn't quite cut it. Just felt too hard. Now, the URC on the other hand is a much better ball IMO. It's a bit softer and definitely spins more. Good ball, I say.

You are not the only one. Been using Z-URSs for about 3mths. Find that they are harsh compared to the Pro V1s (Which I'll play every now and then).

 

Surprisingly, despite the seemingly harder cover, they don't hold up well to my wedge shots - Bits of ball stuck on my wedges everytime I hit a full wedge shot w them.

 

Pro V1s seem to be longer off the tee too...Well, they are also costlier so the Srixons are an ok alternative.
