Anyone satisfied with Irons a YEAR or older?

Ive been using the same Taylormade TP cb/mb combo set for 10 years. I keep the grooves perfectly clean and don't think I'd see much if any improvement with a new set

27 y/o '88 Hogan redlines with original Apex shafts (lengthened an inch) just bumped my '09 Callaway x-forged with fitted KBS tours....

... After playing several forged sets with a satin finish, I picked up a set of Amp Forged two years ago. Absolutely love them. I am very particular about the look of an iron at address and these look like I designed them. I just don't like shiny chrome. Wasn't fond of the orange either but since I don't see it at address it never really bothered me. This year Cobra released the Fly Z+ which addressed every minor complaint I had about the Amp Forged with identical performance and the exact same look at address. I will pull the Recoil 110s from the AF and install them in the Z+. I ordered them last week sooooooo.... I kinda have new irons and I kinda don't.

Before this year I played some Taylor made MB tp's from 2007 or 2008. I tried a bunch of other sets but nothing beat them out of the bag. This past September I got a new set of Scratch sb-1's. While the clubs were new it wasn't a new design as the sb-1's haven't changed much if any since there inception.

I will never get rid of the old Taylor made MB tp's though. I am trying to find some new old stock of them now just have.

I keep going back to Cleveland 588CBs (4th set), and MP 53s(4th set). I push them out for a while,then realize they feel better and perform as well as anything I got rid of them for. At any price. S3Pros may come back too,if I don't think the Fly Z Pro are any better.

Been playing the s56's for 3 to 4 years now and nothing has showed me enough of a change to kick them out.

Been playing Ping I5's for about 10 years. I've tried but I can't find anything to beat them. I am thinking of getting fitted again, because I'm starting to feel as if my swing has changed and my current white dots may be too upright for my current setup and swing. If that turns out to be the case I'll have a tough choice of either having the I5's altered or going with something new.

I love my 714 ap2s but my gamer set is still my r9 tp b version set. The ap2s will make it out of the closet someday just havent been called upto the big leagues yet.

I almost could have qualified for this thread. I have some 712 AP1's I put back in the bag this year after sitting them the last 2 season in favor of G25's. However I just bought some 714 AP1's and the 712's will be a back up set and got rid of the Pings. I'm just a Titleist guy at heart.

I also went from MP14 to MP33s, and after a very short stint with $1200 MR23 U.S. Spec ordered from Japan (when that price was unheard of) I moved to Z101s as the soles fit me better and had them refinished in a satin chrome. As you well know, the feel in all of your irons are just exquisite!

I couldn't agree more. Funny thing is I always end up back playing the MP 33's. I shafted them with KBS Tours last year and they just work for me.

My newest irons are Ping S59's I built myself. The backup set is Ping ISI's from 1998.

I have gone through putters, drivers and 3 woods like candy, but Irons are not going anywhere.

Purchased my Callaway Original X-forged irons end of 2006 (9yrs used and still look decent). Though I am thinking about a new set, they still work fine. My problem is too dam many OEM's are making setups for people that don't like or can't hit long irons... Until I find the right set, I will be happy playing my current clubs.

Still got irons from 2002/2006 in the bag. I don't buy any new gear unless it's going to make me a better golfer.
