J13's WITB: Update- FUJIKURA AXIOM

Update:

The Kuro Kage XT is really winning me over but in my DBD not Cobra. Something about that combo is working really really well. The KK after some more practice and another round feels really good and dispersion is exceptional. The butt section is firm then is gradually feels like the shaft gets softer as it goes to the tip of the shaft. Rogue feels very much like it's firm then like 10" from the tip it quickly gets soft. Not saying one is better then another but that's the "feel" to me. I'll grab a pic when i get home but so far the KK XT is giving my Rogue a real run for its money. I'm also hearing some noise about 1 more shaft that I just might have to try lol We'll see I want some more info first.

Haha well my first state match is next week the Kuro Kage will be my go to over the Rogue. Hitting it really well.

As for the shaft that intrigues me, it's the Xphlexxx Agera. I have had great success with 40Ton shafts and play the Rome 888 and 988. Hearing some good feedback from some people trying them on here and other places. So naturally I have one ordered based on the recommendations for me. Great part is i was able to order it with the CPM and weight of my choosing. Mine will be 263cpm and 74g. :):):) Felt like a tour player telling the van what I needed haha.

Xphlexxx? Is that really the name of a shaft company?

Edit* I was a little afraid what would come up but I Googled it *Golf shafts by RoboPTI*.... You get good deals on those?
haha yeah started as a Long Drive shaft and official shaft of the Remax LD competition. This is his first go at a "mortal" 46" shaft and know a few people that got them. I have one on the way should get it Monday i think. He is also a friend of mine so I wish him luck and told him i wanted one after hearing some great feedback. From what i'm told it's a very low spin shaft that doesn't feel like rebar so i'm always up for trying something like that. I'll make sure to give feedback once i get some time with it but for now the starter is most likely the Kuro Kage XT. My competitive season starts next week so i won't be doing much testing for a few weeks as I need to dial in what i have in hand.

Nice! let us hear what you think about it. I saw some thoughts about it in an other thread - it seems to be a very special shaft (in a good way)

Update to the thread linked above. XR and DBD with KK XT and Xphlexxx Agera in a dogfight.

Also on a side note grabbed a Callaway Alpha 815 Hybrid 20* to take the place of my 19 and 22* X2hot hybrids. Trying to make room in the bag so I'll see how it goes.

The 815 hybrid is so good! I've been VERY tempted to add one or two to the bag and would have by now if I wasn't having so much fun with the Apex UT's they would replace.
The Agera has a lower torque profile, it's more cut biased and has a more agressive fiber layup to create low spin. I have the Rome 888 in my 3 wood and love it, also the 988 in my hybrids. IMO best hybrid shaft on the planet.

Trying out a new flatstick. Still using the Tank 7 but I want something to beat it out as the heavy weight (400g) just kills me when greens get really fast in tournaments. So far played 1 round with this guy and it was a solid showing. Speeds was improved and lines were also spot on. Didn't make many birds but that was more or less 30ft from the hole all day during that initial round.

J15 cb's?

Would be a good choice, no doubt. That's the thing though...there are SO MANY good irons out there it'd be impossible to pick just one. However, I know J would lean towards the Srixon 745s, and then I would hate him for it.

ya know i had my brief run with the bstone J40's and moved on quickly as the sole kept digging on me. Gorgeous irons though. Hayzoos the 745's would probably be the ticket no doubt. But i hit my MC's really well so i'm going to squeeze another season out of em then off they go.

My wedges on the other hand are losing their bite and with things firming up i'm begining to have issues around the green on pitches. Going to give them another month then adios

I know you like your wedges, so I'm assuming the next step will be the new TM EF wedges, or whatever they are, probably still with the ATV grind on them? At least I'd assume that would be your first test.

Correct. I'm going to test the SM5's, Ping Glide, TM EF, and Cally MD2 Tour Grinds. Wedges for me aren't to hard to fit. If i like the look then most likely I can find the grind that works for me. Most companies offer grind options so it definitely makes the process easier nowadays. I'm going to take all of the wedges listed on the course for testing so 1 or 2 rounds will be plenty.

I like the K grind a lot but I seem to chip around the greens better with more of a M grind. K is really good out of the sand though.

Odyssey WOrks #7 CH didn't work out and went back to the Tank 7 but the Cruiser model which is working out well for me. I can adjust the weights to play simliar to my Tank #7 but a little lighter overall to help with speed on fast greens.

Also adding a 50* tour preferred wedge to fill a gap. Decided to hold off on wedges until the new MD3's come out as i'm interested to see what they look like. So now my wedge setup will be 46, 50, 54, 60

As for shafts in my XR driver i'm battling between the Xphlexxx Agera and Mitsu Kuro Kage XT and i'm getting close to making a choice. Both exceptional but one is standing out a little more.
