Is it good in the wind?

I have read a lot on here and kind of feel for the most part that the Black LDP is closer to being my ball. So, I just bought a dozen, but I have been reading on here a lot lately that the Red LDP is great in the wind. I play in OKLAHOMA, where the wind comes SWEEPING down the PLAINS!!! So, a good wind ball is extremely important.

Is the Black going to be very good in the wind or should I exchange them for the Red?

The Black LDP has a higher flight and spin than the Red LDP. I think the only time you may run into problems is into the wind where the higher flight and spin designed into the ball will be working against you. Take more club, choke down and swing smooth and you'll be fine.

I played the BLACK today and was not real impressed...I much prefer the trajectory and feel off both Driver and irons of the RED... The Black to me played too much like a Pro V1... I much prefer the Pro V1x and now the TP RED LDP.....

 

Durability was also an issue which surprised me...did not hold up very well

The black is very durable for me and performs well in the wind. Not as well as the Red but thats a given.

Played 27 Holes w/ a TP Black LDP (1 Ball for all 27 holes) the other day and it looks almost as good as when I started. It held up much better than the 07 Black I used to use. Full Wedge shots (using CG14's) made little to no marks on this ball. It also worked well in the wind for me. What area of your game didn't the Black LDP hold up for you? I didn't Hit any Trees or Cart Paths, so I can't attest to that.

I have read a few posts on here that earlier in the season that they weren't as durable and then all of a sudden they were.... People were wondering if Taylormade made a quick fix of the early season batch..... maybe I purchased a dozen that were produced earlier in the year from Golf Galaxy?.... mine were getting light scuffs just from general iron shots, especially wedges...... that was only part of the story for me, I found out quickly that I like the feel and trajectory of the RED....I shot a 75, so it wasn't as if I had a horrible day swinging the club....now I have 3 dozen Blacks that I wish I could trade for RED
