AC Country Club is an awesome classic course. Twisted Dune is a modern course with a layout that's not something you'll see very often because it's links but not really links, more like desert golf in NJ, I highly suggest that course if you want to play a links course to pair up with ballamor which is parkland. It's tough but manageable with wide fairways.

Seaview Bay is a nice classic links course that is pretty tough with the wind and the layout, it's where the LPGA has their annual tournament. They've got some pretty thick rough too. Shore Gate is a great course, a little further south of AC but not by much but very tough. You won't have an even lie as the fairways are all sloped and the layout is challenging.

Twisted, seaview and AC country club are literally in the same area. Twisted is actually along the same road as ballamor. Overall you picked the best choices and wouldn't consider any other courses in the AC area.

My personal opinion is this.
If price for a round isn't an issue, AC Country Club. If you want a links course Twisted Dune over Seaview Bay. If you want a challenge and don't mind driving a little ways south, Shore Gate, the hardest course out of all of them.

For what it's worth, here is Golf Week's 2015 rankings for best public golf in New Jersey.

1. Atlantic City CC, Northfield (c)
2. Crystal Springs Resort (Ballyowen), Hamburg (m)
3. Twisted Dune, Egg Harbor Township (m)
4. Shore Gate, Ocean View (m)
5. Neshanic Valley, Neshanic Station (m)
6. Ballamor GC, Egg Harbor Township (m)
7. Architects GC, Lopatcong (m)
8. Knoll GC (West), Boonton (c)*
9. Crystal Springs Resort (Wild Turkey), Hamburg (m)
10. Sand Barrens GC, Swainton (m)

ACCC is in awful shape. I played there on Friday. The greens were aerated and very bumpy.

Seaview Pines greens were good, especially so early in the season, and I expect the Bay to be even better (I will be playing there on Tuesday).

Bummer, I'm playing ACCC, which I love, on Friday. Playing Hidden Creek on Saturday. Is it prime punching time in South Jersey?

Played Avalon and brigantine over the weekend. Avalon was recently punched but should be okay in another week or so. Other than that course was in good shape. Not the best course in the area but got a good price.

Brigantine's greens were in fantastic shape. First time playing there. Fairways were average. Don't think the course ever fully recovered from Sandy. Don't think I'd pay full price to play here but golf now usually has a deal in line with what it should be.

Played ACCC in a literal 4-club wind and 45*. Course was beautiful and the greens were in pretty decent shape, but it was a brutal round. Didn't help that I'd pulled a muscle in my back earlier in the week.

Played Hidden Creek the next day. Conditions were slightly more mild, only a 2-club wind. What an amazing course. I wish the light had been better so I could have taken some decent pictures. The greens there are amazingly complex. Coore and Crenshaw didn't leave much in the bag when they designed this. I'm pretty sure given the pin positions that the pro had had a fight with his wife the previous night. Definitely recommend it if you can get on.

I loved ACCC when I played it.

Played 36, and hitting off the practice putting green on #1 is a special feeling.

The back 9 that gets you right out on the bay with the casinos in the background are awesome.
