Finally the truth. After so much spin it's good to hear what everyone knows. USGA screwed up again, the greens suck, turned a major into a goofball tournament. First three days put the pins where the balls don't go. Last day put them where they naturally go to salvage something out of the mess.

You will get what you get when you ask Player to give one of his 10,000 opinions or stick a mic in the face of some guy who has just come off the course. Would be nice to hear a considered opinion from the Players Aassociation or some of the games better thinkers like Geoff Ogilvy a week or so after the event.

I don't think it matters whether their underlying opinions are correct or not. You're diminishing the event for the winner, you're making yourself the story instead of putting the attention where it belongs, on the player who handles the conditions the best.

I used to think he'd be an amazing Ryder Cupper. Now I'm embarrassed by his antics on the course during his national open. The Ryder Cup doesn't need another spoiled crybaby.

That is what I have been saying. These guys don't have to play. How about you think about where you are Bill? How about instead of what you are doing you could be putting on a roof in 90+ degree temperatures, or sitting in a cubicle with a boss who won't let up, or collecting someone else's garbage everyday?

I don't see why he's a jerk for stating his opinion??? Maybe he should have stated the obvious in a more appropriate/tactful setting... The USGA, as the game's governing body/organization, has made some questionable moves that do impact the game (beyond the scope of just this particular tournament).

All of you clowns criticizing should think of an analogy for your own lives:
Let's say you work on a computer daily. You're used to having something reasonably current - more than quick enough to keep up with whatever menial tasks you perform. Now let's say a week before quarter-end you have a "major" (see what I did there:) ) project due. Now instead of your normal PC I swap it out for an old Pentium 1. Sure, you can still do your job. Sure, the star employees are going to get their work done. But wouldn't you be just a little annoyed that one of the 4 weeks out of the year that you know is going to be critical to your success is now going to be that much harder because of something beyond your control?

Taking the PC stance isn't always a cop out and speaking your mind isn't always the right decision - Billy seems to get these confused all the time - There's an awful lot to be said for the guy who can navigate this reality and say what needs to be said w/o coming off as an idiot...
