Meant to say played last Sunday for the first time using aim point, that coupled with getting fitted for a seemore putter and I hadn't putted that well in ages. Perfect read every time

Extended my irons and wedges an inch after going and getting fitted for the first time in years, amazing the difference, posture is a ton better and my back doesn't ache at all!

Swing looks better too. Need to get a face on but looks like less stand up through impact which I would assume is down to my spine being in a good straight position and not curved over like it was.

Have got a couple of irons to finish when some more extenders turn up monday. Then just need to get the lies double checked. Think they might be ok as although they are effectively more upright now so is my posture.

5 weeks ago I took the plunge and bought some online credits with Dan as my pro had moved away and I really like how Dan talks about the swing and his ideas. Sent off my videos and the video back highlighted 2 areas that nor I or any other pros had mentioned or realised in the past. I set to working on getting my hands working in straight away and getting them deeper and left arm more loaded in the backswing. The deeper bit I seem to be making good progress with but due to being a fat ba%tard cant load my left arm much. Still very much struggling with getting the arms infront coming down.

contact has improved but still the inconsistency there from my compensation move that rears its head once or twice a round (standing up to get the right arm straight and infront of me). Have sent my 2nd lesson off so am eagerly awaiting to hear the wizards thoughts.

I'd say you're doing pretty well with arms forward. Maybe could delay the shoulders opening a hair would help.

And, a loaded left arm is what exactly? Not arm across chest right? Is it just an amount of depth you're after with that phrase?
after depth inrelation to hand position from a dtl view but loaded from a fo perspective by having a smaller angle between the left arm and shoulders.

Lesson back, turn around with in 12 hours from Dan which is amazing considering how busy he is, if people are on the ropes about getting a lesson with him, DO IT!

I really like how clear he explains things in the videos he sends. I need to work on my backswing pivot, I don't get deep enough. My right knee and hip and to a lesser extent shoulder don't work away from the target line enough. which now mentioned I can see sompletely. my right knee doesn't move away from the target line at all. This will help me get more depth and give me more room coming down as my body doesn't really have anywhere to go once its moved closer to the ball in the backswing. A few practice swings this morning in my lounge and it feels I have a ton more room on the downswing.

Cant wait to get practicing tonight

Swing clip from tonight. Working hard on backswing depth and posture. My shoulders have been getting a bit hunched so trying to pinch my shoulder blades together slightly.

Backswing feels like I turn my right knee hip and shoulder backwards into the right heel whilst the feeling of the left knee not moving forward. Obviously it does but this is just the exaggerated feel that seems to get me deep enough so I don't stand up.

The downswing to get my arms moving first they feel like the hands move vertical straight down towards my pelvis while the club works outside the hands slightly. Again not real in the slightest but that's the feeling that gets my arms working away from my right shoulder with the elbows more level coming down. As opposed to my arms shifting out and getting the club very flat coming down.

Great thread Dave, how are you hitting it since the lessons with Dan?
when I get it right , getting nice and deep and my hands and arms working down quicker the flight is brilliant, near enough straight with about a 3 yard tumble at the end. The dispersion is MUCH better. Just a case of working on the pieces to ingrain it and get the consistency there.

As Dan said my old move would work well when theres no pressure, pretty well when there is, but because it was such a last minute compensation to get my arms infront it would show up more under pressure and would cause a couple of bad holes a round which will really stop me shooting the scores that I should.

I feel im making good progress seeing as its from online lessons, would be much quicker in person obviously but a trip from the uk to Jacksonville isn't something I can afford right now sadly

also this improvement in my posture, which means my back doesn't ache as much, has made me realise just how hunched over my shoulders are when I putt and how long and straight my arms are, pulling my shoulder blades back which improves my posture pulls my elbows into my side slightly like Mike Shannon advocates, feels much more of a big muscle stroke in this setup than the very handsy one before. I'll also need to move from a 31" putter up to a 33 1/2" putter.

the only problem is most of my putters are 31" and extensions are too big to fit in the butt when cut that short. so the only logical thing to do is buy a new putter :D

Shot 75 today in a comp off the very back tees (css 74). Encouraging signs. Had it to a couple under at the start. 2 silly course management decisions cost me 2 bogeys which is sloppy and shouldn't happen. Just a case of me not really thinking the shot through and picking the club and hitting it not thinking about the possible trouble. Also under a bit of pressure on 2 tough holes near the end 2 bad swings cost me bogey and double.

I've got club champs in 2 weeks so I'm encouraged by today. Need to remember to think through my shot and club choices better. And also need to remember under pressure I REALLY need to focus on getting my arms working down quicker as that's where the fault of arms getting stuck to my chest rears it's ugly head again.

So this is a good platform to build on good notes to have going into club champs.

The only putter I had long enough was my early 60s ping my day. Putted well with the new setup and stroke. Putter felt very light though and struggled to get a decent pace down.

Have just won a rife Barbados on ebay, I love 3 alignment lines so will be good to see how it sits and feels when that gets here

Im a big fan of 3 lines alignment so will be interesting to see how this sees and feels, was only £34 delivered so a bargain to try it out.

It was nice rolling something of a classic shape though, will see if I can extend my Cameron up to 35, failing that might have to pick up a new one :)

Arms getting deeper especially in the 6 iron video. Still struggling with shallowing the club too much and getting my left arm pinned across the chest in transition.

Arms look to be synching up better and arms look fast in the downswing but still need to work on the transition much more.

really mint condition and a bargain for £35 delivered

sets up lovely, looks very similar to the v line to me, obviously this has holes but the overall shape and the 3 alignment lines, but this has the added benefit of the roll grooves.

cant wait to give it a roll, although already contemplating changing the paintfill to black on the lines

anyone else still roll one of these?

The grooves on Rife putters are fantastic. I have my tropical Cayman Brac that I pull out whenever the greens are a little bumpy or they're rolling slow. The ball just gets up and hunts for the hole.

Well I am once again our Club Champion :D

Shot 75 first round, really hit the ball poor but short game was good to get it round. That was good enough for a 1 shot lead going into day 2. The standard scratch was 75 for the course for both days so I effectively shot level par that round and 2 over the 2nd.

Day 2 started fine then I doubled the par 3 6th to go 3 over, no biggie couple of par 5s coming up still in it, birdied the next, then tripled the par 3 8th from just over the green! quit on a pitch then chip ran about 5 feet by and 3 putted from there! nightmare. hit the first putt too firm playing too much break, then went to tap in the 2 footer coming back and lipped that out. gave myself a bit of a talking too as I was only 2 back of the lead. shot level par for the rest of the round. birdie 10 then bogeyed 16. really happy with how I handled the pressure as we were level playing the last 2. especially the 2 shots into 18.

went into a playoff, 497 yard par 5 I moosed a drive 334 yards and hit a 9 iron from 163 to about 18 feet, 2 putted for the win! :D

really happy with how the swing and game held up under pressure, certainly still needs work to get the arms down and off my chest sooner but its getting there!
