IMO the Vokey Black Nickels and the Cleveland 588 TA Gunmetals are one best wedges around with respect to feel, playability and looks.

 

I've been using the 252-08 and 258-08 (bent to 56*) Titleist Vokey Black Nickel wedges this past season and just recently purchased the Cleveland 588 TA Gunmetal 53* (8* bounce), 56* (14* bounce) and 60* (3* bounce) wedges. I decided to go with three wedges as opposed to two primarily because it will give me more bounce options for different playing conditions and situations.

 

Go to any golf review website and the response is overwhelmingly clear, always positive feedback concerning these two wedges.

Best 588 Wedge and possibly best Cleveland wedge in my opinion, only Cleveland wedge i have ever liked and kept in my collection of clubs.

I have a mix of oil can Vokey's and 588 gunmetals. I love them both and wouldn't use anything else. I'd say the Vokey has a better feel and response and after this season i will probably have all Vokey's in the bag. I had been using standard manufacturer wedges before i started using these and I couldn't get them to work for me at first. It took a couple of months before I knew what to expect rom them and how to use them effectively.

Could you make the vokey oil can's gunmetals? I mean I've heard of dipping in coke to remove the hot oil finish then putting gun blueing on your clubhead. Anyone tried this?

I have a gunmetal 588 60* and love it. I always played Ping wedges but the spin with this incrediable.

I play all titleist clubs, but i just cant get rid of this 60 degree wedge. I LOVE IT!

Simply one of the best all around wedges. I loved my 56 and had to get rid of it as the grooves were almost unusable. I like my Mizuno MP-R's around the green, but with full swings, it's hard to argue with the 588s.

Love my Tour Zip Grooved 588 gunmetals. Unfortunately, I have yet to find anyone that can redo the black melonite coating on them. The raw sole after a little grinding needs to be refinished.

I have the sp49/6 and 57/10 low bounce heads which work well with harder, coarser sand filled bunkers....at least with my swing....
Played mid-stance the 57 creates a nice high trajectory that allows for little roll.
Played off the rear foot, the sp49 is a great chipper...it can create draw and fade spin to control the roll on undulating greens...

I have several of each...they're that good.

After 20+yrs, mine are still in the bag. Not because I’m cheap or stubborn; but, because they are still that good. Spin like tops and the finish still looks as gun metal gray as the day they were each bought; no silver underlay wearing through at all. 
 

I have the 588 TA Gunmetal in 51/6, 56/14, 60/8 then 64/8 all with RP Rifle Flighted Wedge Spinner shafts. I wanted to be able to take a full swing 75yds out and have it flop, stop on a dime. 64 does it every time for me. The 56 is my money club for 100yds and pitch and chips. They pair and range well with my Mizuno MP-33s 3-PW in RP Rifle Flighted 5.5 shafts. 
 

Quality design and build that continues to withstand the test of time.

It got me out of a lot of bad situations.
