Help! My Nikon 800 Is Ill

I've had my Nikon 800 laser for quite awhile, and it has been one of the best golf related purchases I've ever made. It was accurate, easy to see the numbers, and compact enough to fit in my pocket.

 

Lately, all hell has broken loose. Suddenly, I can be 100 yards from the flag and I get a series of readings from 200 to 400 yards in multiple responses. It has become almost impossible to get it to read the flag, which has never been a problem. I have it in "G" mode, meaning that it should be picking up first priority targets such as the flag instead of background noise.

 

I tried cleaning the lens, but no improvement was noted. I changed batteries thinking that could be the reason. But, that wasn't it either. Anyone else had anything similar happen and were you able to resolve it? Many thanks!

Bring it back to the store you purchased it from, they can either send it to Nikon to be repaired, which takes about 2 weeks or they can call their rep to give you a new one and the rep will get the broken one sent back for credit. 2 of my customers brought an 800 and a 1200 back sighting similair problems. Nikon is great by getting the broken one and replacing it with a new one.

 

Just a word of advice...before turning it in, copy the serial number on the bottom of the unit. Makes sure the store you bring it back to has a copy of it as well. Thats how NIKON will identify the order.
