Jay birds....

Folks, the OP was asking for advice on headphone... Not your opinion if they should be banned or allowed... I'm pretty sure he could care less that you want them banned..
They are banned ... The only reason it got brought up was because the OP told us how wearing them has lowered his handicap. Which is impossible, because you can't wear headphones for a round that counts toward your cap. And don't get me wrong, I wish you could. I'd like the option to block out distractions during competitive rounds.

People like this guy are the reason we wear headphones. This chump probably can't break 80 but feels the need to get on his high horse and call a scratch a cheater.

Whether he shoots 80 or 90 or is a scratch himself....that doesn't matter. I do agree with the rest of what you said that. Who gives a crap about if it's not going to work if you have a handicap or not.

To wear during the round or not...who cares! That's a personal opinion!

For me the wireless (not exactly a true statement) are not as good because the cord that connects the 2 earbuds get's caught in my collar or stuck to my neck (for those days when it's really hot and muggy) and I don't usually feel it until I start my transition. For wired pairs, you can just stick the wire under your shirt and you'll forget all about that pesky cord.

As to the exact pair of headphones, I would vote for the Bose QuietComfort Headphones. They have a great sound quality and their design is the best I've ever owned (better than the Beats...by far). They are not wireless but you will have to carry your phone/MP3 player in pocket regardless.

"By far"? Ok, opinion.
My phone is in my golf bag 15 feet away when I wear my Beats wireless.
Done deal with that alone for me.

Jaybird Bluebuds X for me.
Bluetooth, and the wire that connects the buds can be tightened behind your head so you won't even notice its there.
Bought them on the recommendation of a bunch of WRX members the last time a thread like this popped up, and I am definitely impressed. Great for the working out and running obviously, as well!
Amazon has them for a good price.

This is the problem I had with the senbowe 4.1 Bluetooth headphones that I got on Amazon for $25.

I talked to a few guys at my course over the weekend and all 3 swore by a newer platronics model. The buds wrap around your ear and link in the back by a wire that is the type that wraps around the back of your head. I hit up Amazon and got them in the mail this afternoon. Just got done with a 2 hour practice session and they performed very well, even off a short 30-40 minute charge. Stayed in my ears the entire time - even on the harder swings. When it came to chipping and putting it got to a point where I didn't even notice them in my ears. Overall, I'm glad I spent the $90 on the platronics - gave the senbowe's to my gf and she seems to like using them for her workout so all is well.

Couldn't agree more man. It seems wherever you go these days YouTube, Facebook, Golf Forums, people are there just to b**** and bring people down. Such a strange part of humanity. You want to wear headphones, f****** wear them. Who am I, or any of us, to say otherwise.

So back on topic....

Just purchased the Sol Republic Shadow headphones to use when I practice. I purchased my girlfriend the Jaybirds the same outing. Previously, I was using a set of Bose QC20i. Overall, I like the Shadow headphones better for golf than either the Bose or Jaybirds. The earbuds on the Sols are more compact due to the battery being in the neckband. The build quality also seems to be marginally better than the JBs and maybe even the Bose. I would probably prefer to run with the Jaybirds, but I think the Sols are more than enough for golfing. As for sound quality, nothing beats wired, but for golfing, wireless is the way to go.

Thanks for the redirect!
Got my wife the Jaybirds......she loves to run with them....no so great for swinging for her....but the construction is great...great case, with a strap to keep in the charger..
Still like my Beats for sound.

WOW! Did I offend you by stating that the headphones "I would vote for" was not the same as yours?

15 ft is not far at all (neither is 30 for that matter; the distance of Bluetooth); what do you do when putting or if its cart path only?

I've used the jaybird bluebud x for the last 2 years, awesome, awesome. They've even gone through the washer/dryer a few times, no issues. Highly recommend, although, once these (www.earin.com) come in, I might look to switch.

Not wireless, but I've been using these and their predecessors for probably ten years for both working out/golf and just casually. I wouldn't call them the most durable, but who cares if you're buying a new set once a year when they're under $20? Sound quality is outstanding for the price.

I use powerbeats 2 on the range. Then our Friday group we play our beats pill (respectfully). Whoever wins the hole picks the Pandora station.
This is an awesome idea! With the guys I usually play with it would be crazy. Tim McGraw, Beastie Boys, Tupac and then Christian Music.
