Seemore Private Reserve Z3C: 2015 Putter Review

Introduction: Currently a 3.1 index playing golf in New England. I am a pretty solid putter, but I noticed I had been missing a lot of birdie putts. They would be awfully close but no cigar. My previous putter is an Odyssey WHP #7 which is face balanced.

Why I chose Seemore: After researching their putters I really liked the notion of RST where you hide the red dot and consistent have the same loft and your putter is perfectly square. This was very important to me because I actually aimed the WHP slightly to the left and I was aware of this but couldn't get myself to square the head perfectly and consistently. I also was very intrigued to get a feel for what Seemore calls face balanced at impact. That almost sounded better than just face balanced and I thought it could only make my stroke more consistent.

First time using my Seemore:

Interesting to say the least. I didn't trust the RST because it felt like the ball was in the back of my stance. I also was trying to get use to having a square face. I was way left so had to aim right at setup or what I thought was right. The feel was fantastic but softer much softer than my WHP so speed took some getting use to. Had 1 three putt on the day and the rest two putts. Yes I took this thing out for 18 when I got it without any practice. I was too excited to try it!

1st Practice Session:

I had a friend look at my ball position and he said it was centered. Once he said that I said okay and fully committed to RST. I also played around with my aim and found it just took some putting to get use to. I focused on 15-25 ft. Putts to get speed down and then I focused on 3-7 ft. Putts where you really need to make in an important situation. One thing to note that is once you set up forget everything about RST and just stroke the ball! If not you will forget how important speed is and only focus on line

1st Two 9 Hole Rounds:

These rounds were average nothing special but I really am confident with my Seemore. My lines are a lot better because of the putter being square to my intended line. I still have left a bunch of birdie putts within an inch of the cup but still short as I get use to the softness of the putter. I play 36 holes this weekend and I am looking forward to putting for sure. Last night I was +2 for 9 with a double (whoops) and the Seemore gave me a boatload of confidence.

Finally my Putter and Specs:

An expensive experiment considering the model you have, but one I don't think you'll regret. SeeMore makes the highest quality and best feeling putters in the business. Better than Cameron, Bettinardi, or anyone else. For me, Kevin Burns Signature Series were the standard for craftsmanship and quality and SeeMore is the only putter company on the level he once attained. I am looking to grab the discontinued Si1 and hope to be able to collect enough cash to get an FGP SS Tour some day.

Good luck with the new stick.

Yeah being left handed I didn't have as large of a selection as those who are right handed. This shape caught my eye as well as the milling. Just so happened it was an expensive option.

I agree the quality is fantastic and I mean fantastic! I have owned Camerons, Machines, Byrons, Slighters, Odyssey, etc. and it's first class. I thought it was cool the private reserves come with one stock headcover and you get to choose one.

Fit and finish looks amazing, nice putter. Hope it helps you in the long run. The alignment concept is definitely a solid one, but my style is almost the complete opposite of what I need to do to get a Seemore to work properly.

Valid point, especially after the round I had today. I played early at 6:44 this morning as I have a wedding to attend this afternoon. The wind was blowing and the ball wasn't flying very far as the air was a bit damp.

I had 4 birdies on the front for -2 and 1 birdie on the back for +2. Overall even par 72. I didn't have any three putts and I had a handful of 1 putts.

I was a little gutted lipping out on 18 from an up and down for bogey and not staying in red figures.

The Seemore is staying in the bag. My lines and speed were great!

Played again today but at a friend's brothers course. The greens were much slower than I am use to so i did not putt as well, but I still putted great. I roll in 3 birdie putts and all of my lines were spot on. Can't say enough how nice it is to hit your lines with ease. Makes you only have to think about speed!

Somewhere between chrome and gunmetal. Doesn't give off a ton of glare, and has held up great to a lot of use.

I started using Seemore a few years back, buying a M3 during a rain delay in a charity tournament. Since then, I have purchased a couple different Seemore putters to tinker with, and have converted a few others into the Seemore family. I had been looking at the Z3C for over a year, and finally pulled the trigger, which I will put into play tomorrow.

OP - thanks for the post. I hope the Z3C continues to come through for you.

Only got to play 4 holes last night due to lightening and rain but my partner and I were 2 up.

I drained two big putts to help us win or tie the hole. I credit my good putting lately to the RST technology. I'm a great green reader and now I know my putter is square to my target. Loving life so much with this putter I sold the Odyssey. No need for it to collect dust

Absolutely love that putter. Still looking to add one to my collection.

You should give Seemore a try if you haven't. Thy have a lot of affordable putters and they fly under the radar. They're never going to be the best looking putters, but the craftsmanship is fantastic and they really work. I always thought they were weird and stayed away. Glad I gave them a chance.

  • 3 years later...

I have the same putter (also lefty) and love it. I have it in 34" with - custom black shaft & 12g internal weight added to the head. Best putter ever owned - my scotty got sold right away.
