Switching it up - going lefty?

So, long story short-ish, I'm rehabbing an injury that is golf specific and here in Minnesnota the season is pretty short which leaves me facing a choice. Start hitting em lefty or shut it down for the year. I don't want to shut it down for the year. So, there's my choice. I've hit some pitches and feel surprisingly comfortable with up to about a half shot. I should still be able to chip and putt righty so no trouble there.

I'm curious about any one else's story if you have done the same, or know any one else that has?

I've done it. Started messing around with it once after a surgery. Played tennis lefty and carried and a left handed bowling average for a while too. :)

It's difficult but fun (was for me) at the same time. It's kinda of like learning it all over again but with already having all the knowledge needed to get there in your head. It's not likely that it will do anything for your right handed game so lefty or just quitting for a while...there's probably not much difference. But it'll pass the time, frustrate you and piss you off for a while until you heal up. :)

So the same really.

This is the thought I had when I was messing around last night.

I used to switch hit in baseball and softball (though not terribly well) so s I'll have a new adventure for the rest of the summer.

I'm a lefty, but I can hit righty. I'll play righty once in a while. My back isn't great, and sometimes, when my back goes out, I'll play righty. A couple years ago, my back was in such pain from golf, I could not play for several months.

I found I could chip balls righty without too much pain, so I would walk the course, and chip balls to the green and putt.

Yes, I would switch to righty just to keep playing. Absolutely.

yes,I would switch. Having said that,i have to be honest: i'd probably look like a monkey having a love

affair with a football,but i'd sure give it a shot !

Whelp, just got back from the range and it's early but I think I may have found a happy medium. I'm going with the Foley method, sort of. All of my weight on my left foot and there's a feeling of extension with my right arm. There's no conscious use of my left arm and shoulder (the problem area in my case). So far so good. I am still curious though, as I have had to seriously consider this for the last two weeks or so.
