Best Golf Socks?

Recommended Posts

Anyone remember the old navy blue footjoy no-show's from the 90's? I can't find navy blue low socks anywhere. If anyone has a lead let me know.

Picked up a pair of Thorlo Experia socks at a local running store today, looking forward to trying them out and may pick up a pair of swiftwick or kentwool socks as well. What models are you guys wearing? I would like some padding, but not tons, I have a narrow foot so some cushioning helps fill up my shoes, but don't want a super heavy sock.

kentwool are thicker but breathe well, while swiftwick tend to be thin...BOTH are outstanding socks, just depends on what you are looking for! the thorlo experia kind of offer both worlds as parts of the sock are quite thin, but they also have padding in heel and toe areas (I have well over 30 brands of socks to compare...); if you made me pick an everyday sock for golf, it is really tough to top the kentwools -- they are comfy in cool weather, and surprisingly nice in hot weather as well

I have narrow feet and I have many of the "clinically-tested" padded Thorlo socks and find that they are a bit too thick. I have the Kentwool golf sock models (in order of thickness: Tour Series, KW Sport, and KW Pro Light) and prefer them all over anything I have ever worn. I think the Kentwools are the best because the wool blend provides unmatched softness and the elasticity ensures that the material doesn't bunch up and cause irritation. No irritation from seams either. They may be the most expensive sock, but I think it is reflected in the materials and workmanship.

Darn Tough Socks or Swiftwick. I give the edge to Darn Tough. They are based out of Vermont and replace their socks for any reason. I have yet to wear a pair out.

I bought a pair of Darn Tough for work and was impressed enough to go buy 4 more to fill the work week. They feel great!

Thorlo Experia is pretty great. Has a thicker area around the toes and on the ball of the foot, as well as the bottom of the heel. Thinner more swift wick like mid bottom and top of the foot to help cool it.

Well, they passed the "walk 18" test. Loved them. I don't care for my swiftwick when walking 18. Walking 9 in them is fine but they start to hurt the balls of my feet when walking any more.

The balega's hidden comfort were fantastic. I played in a downpour and it was very steamy when it stopped. Dry socks. Way more cushioned than the swiftwick and the tab on the back was great for no rubbing.

Curious if anyone out there wears well-cushioned, moisture-wicking socks.
A little google search brought up brands of X Socks & Thorlo. Anyone care to share their experiences with any of these or some others I should look into?

My favorites are the Thorlo Light Padded Running socks or Experia . All the padding and support in the right places where you need it, and none where you don't - long lasting - and you don't have to change your shoe size. Well worth the money. You get great fit and support - and you don't need to buy a lot of them. Company is great to deal with too. If you're unsure - go try a few on at the sporting goods store and buy a pair that you like - the price should be the same as online. But the website is most current stock.

I wait for the 3 pairs + 1 free offers and buy every 2 years. They last longer than that. I walk about 40 rounds a year.

Currently have a Free Pair offer here: https://www.thorlo.com/free-sock-offer/page_home

Good luck. No reason not to try them. :)

The thorlo and balega's were what the REI people recommended to me last night. I chose the balega's but doubt you can go wrong
