Ridiculous pricing

just hit the izod store this afternoon... they are closing all their doors this fall, that meant everything was 70-80 percent off.
Picked up five pairs of xfg shorts and 5 shirts. $121.00 out the door.

I live in Florida which means 9 months of the year I am sweating like a teenager during the prom. As a result, I don't really like paying much for golf clothes. I have found great deals on serviceable shirts and shorts at Wallyworld (Ben Hogan on sale for peanuts, made by Perry Ellis) and recently at Target with their C9 golf clothes. Those were a surprise and I wish I would have bought more because I got them on super double discount sale for $9 a piece and they are really comfortable. In Florida there is a store called Bells that has an outlet with racks and racks of golf clothes. PING, Faldo, PGA Tour, Callaway, etc. Everything is pretty much $15-$25 every day, and then they go on sale.....

I would completely agree that the clothing and shoe prices have gotten out of hand. I tend to look for sales or find clothing on line (3balls, ebay, rockbottom, golfetail, etc.) and never pay full price if I can help it. Same goes for shoes - they're just too expensive for something you wear only 1-2 x week. Nice to hear that I'm not the only one not willing to pay the high prices.

I buy a few items full price when it comes to golf clothing but recently, the Marshalls near me has had some AMAZING deals on polos. I picked up 3 RLX wicking polos for $25 a piece. Now that's a price I could get used to! I saw they had Ecco Biom shoes too for $47. Nothing wrong with them but they were an old color combo and had the odd ball sizing (mostly 9.5 US)

To me, its more about the "fit" than it is the brand. If it fits good, it looks good.

Adam Scott is wearing Uniqlo shirts that are on sale for $12.90. I suspect his are tailored for him.

I'd been trying to find Adam's polos in particular, but with no luck. Never seemed to come across any of the shirts he was wearing on the Uniqlo website.

Well... I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but it turns out he's wearing tennis tops! Polos designed for Ken Nishikori to be precise.

I'm pretty sure I've seen Adam wear all of the colourways associated with the French Open polos.

Sadly, at least for those in the UK, there's only one colour on the Uniqlo website and it's only available in XL. Still, worth keeping an eye out for in the future, even if the Uniqlo logos are printed and not embroidered.

You only pay those prices for clothes, shoes, and golf clubs if you are one of those that need the latest and greatest. I always wait and get my stuff for a lot less. OP is complaining about the high prices .I tell every one golf and golf stuff is cheaper now than it has been in years.

Agreed. I have never paid more than $50 for a shirt or shorts, never gone over $70 for pants, and never gone over $100 for shoes. And I wear brand names. You just need to be patient and wait for the sales. I recently got a pair of $110 nike shorts for $30. Golf apparel is definitely easier to find at good prices now than previously.

100% agree on waiting for the sales. I love budgetgolf.com.

Plus, the retail price for "golf clothing" has always been high. Remember that clothing that is specifically designed to wear while playing golf is a pretty new concept.

Previously, we weren't purchasing "golf clothing." We were purchasing "clothing to wear while we are golfing." Apples and oranges.
