Guys and Gals,

Thinking of 5 rounds in AZ next April 6-11 when the Masters 2016 is on ... (we usually do Miami area but may mix it up this year)

Who has some good recommendations for nice tracks that are not $200 + per round? Packages or ??

There would be 8 or 12 of us going and staying locally in a McMansion

well regardless of where you are staying I'm just gonna mention places in the Valley that are still good value for the buck during 2016 peak season. +1 on Southern Dunes, Legacy, Talking Stick, Long Bow, Papago, 500 Club, Raven at South Mountain, Whirlwind, ASU Karsten.

[/quote]opinion noted. but in peak season to play a Pete Dye and Gary Panks golf course both still under $100 they are phenomenal value.

p.s. 16,17,18 at Karsten hand you your a$$?

thanks so far guys, I read thru the other thread but there was a lot of info and some of it was dated.

I've played some desert golf in Vegas, Colorado and Utah ... but some of these courses look fantastic

Last updated 08/02/2015 I keep the op as up to date as I can based on what I have played recently, If it has not been changed that just means my opinion on the course or ranking still stands.

With 2-3 foursomes coming it is going to be hard to impossible to take advantage of the discount sites like teeoff.com and golfnow hot deals etc.

I would give my buddy David a call at Discount Tee Times tell him I sent you, he can usually hunt out a fair price for folks. That may be your best bet trying to get 2-3 groups off in a row.

Southern Dunes imo a must play, Camelback Ambiente very good course and would be less than $200 You may be able to get a 36 hole special at wekopa that brings the cost per round below $200 as well. Grayhawk Raptor should be around $180 then Troon will prob be close to $200

If your budget is $100-$200 a round it really wont be hard to find quality golf here that time of year. Southern Dunes should be less than $100 Ambiente in the $140 range. With a bit of a drive GC of Estrella and Verrado both sub $100 The only ones to really stretch the budget will be Wekopa,Troon North, Grayhawk, Availability not an issue so really should not need to rush out to book right now.

I was playing a ton of high end golf with Isaacbm last winter leading up to the superbowl here in town. I think the most we paid was like $100 on a last minute deal at Troon. We went on a 4 week run of Wekopa, Troon, Sunridge (not worth it) and Quinterro all for less than $100

Listen to this guy...he knows his stuff....

IMO....Quintero and Troon Pinnacle are absolute MUST plays.....We Ko Pa Saguaro is a very close second (skip Cholla)....Camelback Ambiente and Southern Dune are right behind We Ko Pa.....Verrado and GC of Estrella.....lots of travel time between all these course...TPC champions works in a pinch too
