Closeout/discounts. Specifically to shoes

Hi all

 

In your experiences, when is the best time to get shoes. I'm usually partial to getting "last years" models.

 

In particular, I'm looking at getting TW15s and LC3s. Ideally, when do these get reduced to make room for next years' models?

My local Dicks has lc3 for $97.97 with additional 25% off. Great deal if they have your size and a color you like.

Go to Carl's Golfland and TGW websites and get on their email lists. They will send you an email when they have close outs and blemishes on sale. Typically less than half price.

Do you guys know when they happen usually. IE when the new stock comes in. I understand that Masters time is usually a time when a lot of new stuff comes out. Safe to assume that the month or 2 before that stores are clearing store space to make room?

I grabbed a pair of white Oakley Carbon Pro 2's at the PGASS in Plano, TX a few weeks ago for 50. I'm not sure if they were getting rid of all their Oakley stock or what because they didn't have any pairs that weren't in the clearance section and they have quite a few pairs in different sizes. I wore them the first time on Saturday and loved them.

Can't recall last time I paid retail for shoes, and I have at least 9 pair.
I usually buy when on sale, online, after 'new' models come out.
I often by 2 pair of shoes that fit really well, sometimes 3 if price is attractive enough.

Adidas Nuovo, I have 4 pair (paid no more than 100 each)
TrueLinks Sensei I have 5 pair (paid no more than 35 each)
TrueLinks Proto I have 3 pair (paid no more than 40 for any of them)

Find what fits and is comfortable and stock up, that's my theory.

Golf Galaxy in Feb. They usually do a 50% off the clearance price and you end up getting some crazy deals if you don't mind getting the the previous season model.

Black Friday/Cyber Monday always seems like a great time to be shoe shopping too. I know I've gotten some great deals on shoes around then.

That's my game plan too.

I paid $80 + shipping for my LC2s last year.

A few months ago the FJ sports were 30 bucks at GG.

The LC2 were $38 at GG.

Just wait...they'll do 50 and eventually 75 % off clearance.

Quite jealous right now!

I did a search through eBay a week or so ago and had a bit of a panic. I couldn't find any TW15 discounted in my size (7.5). Thought I'd missed the boat.

Figured I there should be a ton out there considering how he didn't really wear them this year

If you know what you want (and how they fit) Amazon usually also always has fantastic deals on shoes.

I bought one pair in store and then the next three in different colors on Amazon when the price dropped. Price was the same as what the clearance rack at my local store would be, but the size and colorways selection were so limited in the store.
